Hello. I recently got brand new (but I admit, old) H3D Terminator 3d glasses (wired). I'm using Win2k with an Nvidia GForce 4. The glasses come with eyescream wicked 3d drivers, but they do not support W2k. So I installed the Nvidia Stereo Drivers, to no avail. Then, out of blue, after many restarts, the glasses suddenly 'turned on.' They began blinking as soon as the computer started (before it booted into windows) and continued this constantly, despite activating/deactivating them with the Nvidia software. Then, after a few days and many more reboots, they 'turned off' (and this usually happened when a game crashed as soon as I tried to load one with Stereo enabled.) This has gone on for a little while now, and now they're in their OFF mood. Has anyone experienced this? I've tried installing a plethora of different detonator/stereo drivers (and H3D, Win3d and eye3d activators, which actually worked when I first got the glasses, but then the glasses only worked when they were mysteriously activated ALL of the time.) I tried a demo version of the eyescream 2000 pro drivers (which are the only ones for Win2k) to no avail, and I tried using the power adapter for the glasses (that connects to the keyboards ps2 port.) I've also tried connecting and reconnecting all of the cables many times (and I gave them an adequate testing when the glasses were on, so I don't think this is a wiring problem.) I'd appreciate it if anyone could give me any tips on what else I could try. Thanks a lot. - Matt |

It seems that the controller is reacting to the 'Revelator-trigger'. Sounds like a DDC-problem with your monitor. How to fix DDC-problems: 1) on older non-DDC problems VGA pins 12 and 15 must not be grounded 2) newer DDC-monitors must work in DDC2 mode 3) deactivate monitor power management, don't switch off monitor during use, since even newer monitors fall back into DDC1 4) If all fails use a VGA-extension cable or seperate VGA-cable, remove pins 12 and 15 and put it between monitor and glasses controller. (Don't screw the original cable of your monitor if it's a fixed one. Christoph |

Thanks for your help, Christoph. I removed the 12 and 15 pins on a VGA extension cable, but this has not solved the problem. Power management has been off, and I don't think my Monitor need to be in DDC2 (it was made around '98.) But regardless, I'm unsure how to check what DDC mode it is in (there is nothing in the monitors built-in setup utility.) Just before I modified the pins, I got the glasses activated in Win3d, using the Termainator 3d Over/Under mode (only within win3d's DDraw tester, although it still claims there are errors) although these glasses have only worked in Page Flipping mode in the past. Could this mean this is entirely a software activation problem? I actually tried installing win98 on a partition and installing the drivers that came with the glasses, but they still would not work. Activating the glasses with the win3d test has continued to work, so I assume this has nothing to do with hardware, the glasses are just not becoming activated (although this doesn't quite explain why the glasses automatically turned on with the computer before.) I guess I'll just try a few more detonator drivers, as uninstalling/reinstalling various drivers is usually what got the glasses running in the first place. Thanks again. |

Have the same glasses and the same problem and fix it with det.4270 and the fix stereo drivers from rusa. had to go to the registry remove stereo settings and then reinstall the nvidia drivers then use the activater H3D.exe to activate.o if you are using the Quadbuffer stereo api turn it off to play games. |

Thank juto. I tried what you suggested, but the glasses still won't activate. I installed the 42.70's, restarted, installed the RU2 stereo drivers, restarted, deleted the nvidia stereo settings in the registry, restarted, and then reinstalled the 42.70's (without uninstalling them, I just used the 'update driver' button and reinstalled them.) The H3D activator still doesn't work. Is this exactly how you did it? Thanks again. |

Hello: Matt What i Did Was uninstalled the drivers for the nvidia card and the 3d drivers but the 3d settings still remain in registry , remove them from reg. then reinstall the nvidia drivers and the 3d drivers that way you get new defult settings. |

For anyone who may experience a similar problem, I thought I should add that I've solved it. When using windows, I use a high resolution (1920x1440,) which I've discovered does not work with any H3D activators. So, the simply solution is to lower your desktop resolution to 640x480, activate the glasses, and return to the original resolution. - MattRW |
