I have the 5.02 Wicked3D beta drivers but can't install them because I don't have an original CD. I would just buy it but the company is out of business ;-( So, can anyone help me get around this? If it's just checking the Volume Label (name of CD in file-explorer) perhaps someone here could tell me the volume label of their original CD so I can try that (doesn't matter which version). Or perhaps it's looking for a hidden file on the disk. Or??? Perhaps someone has an extra Wicked3D CD they'd like to sell for cheap? |

Maybe someone will have a CD for you, but what is it good for? There are always new Windows versions new DirectX versions new VGA-chipsets and drivers new games A driver - or in this case wrapper - has to be maintained regularly or it's worthless. Let's face it, the Wicked-era is over. I haven't tried it in a long time, but I doubt it'll work with current VGA-drivers, even with older games. Christoph |

By the way, the latest version you are refering to is 2 years old and doesn't support Win 2000/XP. The company behind it - Metabyte - isn't out of business, they just discontinued their Wicked3D product line. Some of the key personel from the Wicked3D team is now working at nVidia in stereo- and VGA-driver development. So in a way the Wicked3D-driver was reborn as nVidia-reference-stereo-driver. I know this is little help for you and the other owners of incompatible hardware. Christoph |

Who has "incompatible hardware"? If you want to play POD or Longbow 2 at their 3D best you're wasting your time with nVidia's drivers. I agree the eyeScream drivers are outdated but that means they're ideal for some older "classic" games. And they can work alongside nVidia's drivers with the Wicked3D providing the glide stereo on a pair of Voodoo2s whilst the nVidia drivers do the Direct3D and OpenGL stuff on a GeForce. That's versatility! :-D |

Don't know about Longbow 2, but POD has D3D API support and it looks real good with the Nvidia 3D stereo drivers. I've played it for hours. |
