I got my new ED wireless glasses. I installed the dongle just like the manual said. I plugged in the wireless transmitter into the dongle and made sure the glasses can see the transmitter. I didn't use the Power Adapter because the website said not to unless your monitor turned black. My monitor is fine. I was somewhat confused by the software installation. At first I installed Wicked3D drivers but I always got that nice error "No devices to enumerate" or something. The website said to uninstall the drivers and use the Beta drivers. So, I uninstalled Wicked3D and then installed the Beta drivers. Now I don't get that error but still nothing happens. No flickering glasses! 1. I know the transmitter is transmitting something because I used my cheapie Webcam to look at it while it's on. The little LED's glow nicely when they are supposed to and go out when they should. Webcams and videocams are very sensitive to infrared. They make good free IR detectors! Try it with your TV remote! (Might want to add that to your trouble-shooting pages Christoph!) 2. The glasses never flicker. They don't look like their trying to do anything. 3. It doesn't matter what 3D software I try to use the glasses just sit there and do nothing. I can put the screen in interlace mode, but the glasses don't flicker. I can turn on/off the glasses transmitter with the Activator software (as indicated by the cheap Webcam that can see IR). 4. There is a button on the glasses but it doesn't seem to help at all. 5. I checked the batteries in the glasses and they seem fine. System -------------- Glasses: ED Glasses, wireless, new. Graphics: ATI Radeon 9700 OS: Windows 98 CPU: AMD XP1800, not overclocked. This isn't a very good first impression of Edimensional! I think the glasses may be DOA (Dead On Arrival). Any suggestions? |

that's because you're using the wrong drivers. The instructions tell you that if you have an ATI card, download the drivers from the website. Just email drivers@edimensional.com and they'll send them to you. |

I did that. I emailed them a week ago before I even got my glasses and got the Beta drivers for non-nvidia cards. I told them I had an ATI Radeon 9700. I figured they sent me the right drivers. Besides, wouldn't the glasses flicker once the transmitter starting going? They are just transmitting on/off codes to the shutters, not video card driver codes. |

Also, I just tried the E-D activator(E-D.exe) program that they recommend to use to check for hardware problems, per their website. 1. The glasses themselves never even sputtered. They can't be forced on, and don't flicker in any way. The screen itself darkens a little when put in 3d mode, but not the glasses. Holding a hand over the tranmitter doesn't make the glasses turn-off, because they were never on (should turn them off and on). 2. The test screen looks flat. The glasses never came on. Even pressing the button doesn't help. 3. I've check the batteries 3 times. 4. The transmitter is sending because I can see it glow with an infrared sensitive webcam. |

FOUND THE PROBLEM! Well, actually, the Support team at EDimensional told to me to replace the batteries! LOL. I did that and now the glasses work! I had checked the batteries with a volt meter and they read the correct voltage, but perhaps they were weak. A friend told me the voltage could read correct but that if they were weak then the moment you put a load on them they wouldn't work. Who knew? What a dumb problem I had. Well, like the Support people said, I had tried everything else and that was the last thing to do, the last thing it could be. I'm so glad it turned out to be something silly. And, I'd like to say that the Support at Edimensional was good. They got back to me within 12 hours. The technician gave me the correct troubleshooting tip, and he was nice as well. Kudo's to Edimensional! |

vr caddy has nothing to do with edimensional. those are not the drivers that edimensional uses for ati cards. |

Does anyone know the voltage range for triggering(shutting off) each lens? I'm trying to use the glasses for a simple exp. where I'm switching between monocular and stereo viewing and am trying to control the glasses over the parallel or serial port. please send any responses to hahsjar@nyc.rr.com Thanks for any help!
