I wish my revelators where not so dark when off. Is there some one that makes a better lens?

Unfortunately its due to the technology being used. LCD's are liquid crystals that alligh themselves to block the light when the glasses are "on" ie when a current is passed through them. When a current is not present, they are lying flat and lying majority of the light through. Never the less, they are still there and will always block out some light, ving you the "sun-glasses" effect - It is a trade-off.

well actually it is not the "liquid cristal" that block the light when the glasses are "off" it is the two polarizing filters.
lcd shutter=
1polarizing filter +"liquid cristal"+1polarizing filter.
In a simplistic way the "liquid cristal" just rotates the plane off light coming from the first filter...etc.
