Hello, I bought a pair of VRex wireless glasses (VR Surfer?) off of eBay recently and I can't get them to work with my older system. I have a Dell Pentium 400 which I can boot to Win95 or NT4 - it has a big Dell monitor (but I don't have the model # right now). My video card is an STB Velocity 128, which doesn't seem to be directly supported but I can get the glasses to flicker using the S3 chipset with a few resolution/color combinations. But I can't get the monitor to display an image under those same conditions (screen is just black) with the included software. Using different display options, the monitor will show the test pictures in Depth Studio (some appear to flicker but I'm not sure if it's the correct type of flickering). I just can't figure out what combination will work with both my monitor and the video card and/or what else I need to do to get this setup/configured correctly. VRex support replied with this info: "if you're able to put your video card into an interlaced refresh rate then the glasses will automatically shutter correctly." Thanks! |

Yes, the VRex VRSurfer controller checks for an interlaced signal, which is quite unusual nowadays. A 'tweaked' page-flipping system, like ASUS used in their later stereo drivers, would also work. The best solution would be to install the nVidia stereo driver and use the 'ASUS mode'. This mode hardly ever worked for me, but I saw it working on certain PC's. Just check http://www.stereo3d.com/news/news0062.html and give it a try. Christoph |

Hi Christoph, Thanks for your message! I downloaded the files last night on my notebook. I'll give them a try when I get the chance to transfer them to my desktop system. |
