is there any way to play quake 3 in stereo with a geforce2MX and a cyber3dvisor? i am currently using the wicked3d 4.11 driver. when i try and play quake the black "wicked 3d" screen comes up, then the video switches to a full-screen flicker between black and white. i can hear sounds when i move the cursor, but nothing comes up. its not the dongle, because even if i remove that i get the same picture, and also the glasses don't start flickering. The set up as it is works with D3D games, but quake3 is the only openGL i have tried. any ideas? different drivers? any help would be welcome because cybervison and wicked3D won't answer me. thanks -mike |

I have the same problem with Geforce 2 GTS, directX works fine with Wicked driver, but not quake 3. No one at wicked3d or I-art will answer me either. I am selling the I-art system since it cant even do 1280X1024 stereo (eye3D) whereas my old H3D can, go figure. One warning the MBinit.exe file that loads from Wicked3d (stereo wrapper I assume) may cause extreme chopiness in quake3 in all multiplayer. I have already informed Activision of the bug, and they are studying it. So make sure it isnt loaded when you play or within a few minutes youll be getting 1-3 FPS. It would be nice if some of these 3D companies could provide better support, I am starting to believe they all suck. The new Nvidia drivers do enable stereo, now if only I could activate the glasses (H3d system) it would rock, any suggestions? Thanks |

In order to use Quake 3 with the eyeSCREAM drivers you have to have a 3dfx board and use the WickedGL drivers with the eyeSCREAM drivers. The eyeSCREAM drivers don't support OpenGL directly. This took quite a while to figure out and should be posted on one of these 3D Glasses sites but I wasn't able to find it anywhere. |

I read right here on this board that you have to have the game option resolution set at at least 1280x9?? and enable OSD. You must enable OSD just incase the game does'nt start in stereo mode even though it should, so you can enable stereo mode once the game has started. This worked for me using Asus v7700 glasses and drivers. I'm hooked now! Can't stop downloading demos of games that have VR settings configured into the Asus driver software. |
