Hi all,
i've just ordered the i-glasses this weekend and am now looking for a good solution to have stereo 3D with my Radeon 9700 card in my main PC.

In the second PC i have a geforce 3 card that has very good stereo capabilities but is outdated a little bit.

The people i ordered the glasses from said that the ati card recognises the headset via plug and play and if that don't work they suggest to use the edimensional drivers. Thes drivers are obtainable but will cost 20$. Are They worth it?

Any hints, ideas etc. welcome ;-)

Why did you order a i-glasses SVGA-3D when they are no longer being made?

I got a good price ;-)
They indeed still are made. Afaik they only changed the name. The 'new' glasses are technically the same as the old ones.
Or does anybody has a technical comparison chart of the two models in question?

But anyhow your question doesn't bring me any further, i'm afraid.

No not really! The old ones have a 50:1 contrast where the new ones have 75:1. Also the vertical lines that happen with the old ones are not present with the new ones!

Yes the svga 3d glasses had problems of getting to hot and colors fading, vertical lines big time and also left & right image swapping.. 50:1
then newer optics for i-glasses 3d, wierd they used the old name for new glasses.. 75:1 and the pro's are 100:1 contrast.. I've heard the newer ones with the ones you bought are like night and day.. The compnay that did thier older optics are now out of business, let hope this is all true...

But anyways good luck cause not all had problems I guess..

;P

Only to get things right since your shortened sentence style is a little difficlut to understand:

First there were i-glasses SVGA 3D with 50:1 contrast and the heat props and all.

Then they changed the whole optics compartment yielding a 75:1 contrast with other problems gone but still with the name i-glasses SVGA 3D.

And now since 01.05.04 They still sell those glasses descibed in my last sentence but with the new name i-glasses PC-3D.

Is the above stated correct?

Not correct at all! The i-glasses SVGA 3D only used the 50:1 contrast optics and were never upgraded. Somebody lied to you! The new i-glasses PC-3D is the new optic 75:1 contrast with no problems.

There is no lie, just you didn't read my sentence right! I said the newer ones WITH the ones you bought are night and day, meaning YES they do have new ones with new optics from a new company, they say who they went with... I never said they changed the compartments, it's in the same shell.. Yes the newer ones have 75:1 and the pro's have 100:1.. If you check, I said they used the older name for the new ones!!! Thier 180,000 spec glasses were also called i-glasses.. Thats what I meant when they used an old name for thier new glasses.. Sorry for jumping around in my sentences. So again hopefully you got these real cheap and you have no probs..Most people did and I was one of them... I really hope the newr optics glasses are night&day like they say...... Soon I will find out..

One comment to both (i assume) of you:

It would be much easier to distinguish your posts, if you would take the really small amount of time to enter some kind of unique name as Username ;-)

Only for the protocoll ;-):
In the meantime i bought a geforce 5900XT and so far i didn't regret it.

The overall matureness of the drivers and the possibilities nvidia gives are great.

The 9700 goes to my second PC.

Anybody needs an ASUS Geforce3 deluxe?
