Hi, Problem with games : I have e-dimensional glasses, and the game (by example) Far Cry is not displaying stereo 3D. I see a vertical bar (1/5 of the screen) flicking (like the picture is shifted) when I enable stereo, that's all. I have Win2K Pro, Athlon XP2000+, GeForce4 Ti 4600 (VGA driver : 4.5.2.3) |

How about the test application? This is not the same as the medical image and is a full D3D application you can access from the Stereo control panel. Does it work? - StereoGamer |

Ed glasses won't work on newer drivers with the ed controler that turns them on but the screen will work. The solution I've been teaching people is to download the H3d activator and use it to turn on your glasses (page flip mode) before starting any game. You are so lucky I droped by to read the forum today I haven't checked out posts in months *L*. |

>>far cry not working I don't know anything about the game you speak of but there are some games where you need to check off certain features for stereo within the options, or it might be chosing the wrong 3d video card, or it might be a wrong resolution, or not opening in full mode, or conflicting toggle keys. For that game perhaps change the stereo on/ off key and see if that works and triggers the screen. The glasses should always work if you have the H3d activator. (remember if you have the H3d activator you don't need to have the ED controller in the system tray, this might mess up the screen from page fliping in the game.) Make sure you clear your system tray of unecessary items like firewalls and virus protection etc. |

Well, with H3D Activator, the page flipping is working (one picture on two to the left eye, and the other one to the right eye). So, the system is working. The problem is that it is the same picture displayed to both eyes, resulting in a "flat" display. I have no other stereo software running. But do you believe really that firewall and antivirus software can influence stereo in games ? |

I would give it a 1% chance that a virus scanner like McAfee would interfere with it and a .05% chance for the firewall. Still, the principle of turning everything off that might conceivably interfere is a good one. |

I use ED glasses and they work fine with Far Cry (though the game does have well documented graphics probs not associated with the glasses) I don't know what all the mentions about ED Activator and H3D activator are about - I use the standard Nvidia drivers (56.72) and use the standard Ctrl-T toggle to turn on stereo. |

Become familiar with the advanced stereo adjustments of the NVIDIA driver. I couldn't get NFS underground to work until i played with separation etc using the in game keys and, amazingly enough, beautiful 3D! |

3d Stereo glasses problem solved. DO NOT USE THE LATEST VERSION OF THE Regular NVIDIA VIDEO CARD UPDATES. I think the latest version is 61.77, but you SHOULD use the latest 3D Stereo driver update, version 61.76. I had the same problem with my stereo viewing. I had to uninstall ALL the nVidia drivers and reboot to the VGA drivers. Then, re-install the stereo driver version and if you must, use the previous regular vid-card driver, also version 61.76. Go to nVidia Home and search with nVidia for driver archives. This will bring you to the older drivers and the 61.76 version. Even though I have XP the 95/98/ME 61.76 works like a charm. I have already e-mailed nVidia about this 1-2weeks ago, as usual there has been no answer. For those of you needing a good video card try the GeForce 5700 ultra, only one pipeline but core clockspeed is 500 and memory clockspeed is 1000, right out of the box, about $150. For one better the "Gainward FX Powerpack Ultra/1200/XP" GeForce FX5900 (souped-up) with 400 core clockspeed and 850 Memory clockspeed, right out of the box, about $200. Then there is the Gainward Powerpack Ultra/1200/XP -Golden Sample- GeForce FX5900 (souped-up) with 440 core clockspeed and 900 memory clockspeed, about $250-$300. Search for Gainward and they have all the latest - even the souped up version of the GeForce FX 6800 Ultra, if you'll drop $400-$500. Hope this works. If not you can always re-install the newer drivers again. Good Luck |
