I have tried disabling all the advanced video settings in the game and still get a very dark screen which turns almost black with movement. Any ideas? |

I See VReality's is selling a hardware special with the I-glasses and a copy of Doom3, it's there DOOM3 package. http://www.vrealities.com/doom3special.html So if they sell this DOOM3 Deal, they must know how to make it work with 3D. Send them an e-mail maybe they can help... |

I wouldn't count on them knowing just because they sell it. |

it has to be the nvidia drivers because the damn game works fine in stereo with every other nvidia line card aside from the 6800 series. It's a shame they don't have a driver support email section on their site out of arrogance, I'm beginning to lose faith in nvidia when their latest stereo driver set is broken in windows 2k without some lame fix-tactics and doesn't work well with their most expensive video cards. |

Hi guys check out these threads. If you have a 5xxx card then 3d in d3 is possible (turn off lighting effects and weapon.... http://forums.stereovision.net/viewtopic.php?topic=1664&forum=5&19 With the 6800 series there seems to be a driver issue with missing textures... http://forums.stereovision.net/viewtopic.php?topic=1677&forum=1&4 Hope this helps. Laser sight mod: http://doom3.planet-multiplayer.de/download.php?view.178 Reports on another board seem to say this works in Stereo 3d. Unclebob |

Also on the same board is success with the latest drivers: Credit to *quetzalcoatl*. OK, rewriting this post after actually reading the topic *g* Now after installing the latest drivers I get a perfect 3D experience. Weapons look absolutely great and work perfectly well in stereo. Only option you need to turn off is "High quality special effects". This will fix the problems with broken heat distortion and some of the windows f**king up the view completely. The missing heat distortion is a minor drawback, the effect on the windows (whatever it is) is not. Frame rate hit is a good 20% for me. But stereo does a little AA for you. Actually the aliasing is still there but you dont notice it that much. When switching back to flat 3D I always go "yuck, that looks ugly". You should use the laser-sight mod mentioned above which works great. The experience with these settings makes it one of the most flawless stereo 3D games and it is even a little easier to see monsters in the shadows. Hope this helps Unclebob |

I had given up on Doom3 until I read this thread - I thought surely, setting high quality special effects to off would'nt solve the problems? But it did! And not the game does look great in stereo 3D. I am using the Nvidia lasersight, and convergence settings that work well with the game but not so well with the HUD items: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D\GameConfigs\doom3] "StereoConvergence"=dword:3f49ddcb "OpenGL"=dword:00000001 "LaserSight"=dword:00000001 "Time"=dword:412d0186 "LaserXAdjust"=dword:3f800000 "LaserYAdjust"=dword:3f800000 (if the above is copied into a text file, and the file renamed to whatever.reg, then double-clicking it will enter all items into the registry... Now I just need to remember how to disable games own crosshair - I think I found a console command on a newsgroup, but not sure... |

BTW to increase brightness you need to edit the DoomConfig.cfg file in notepad and change the line seta r_gamma "1" to seta r_gamma "1.5" (or even 2 if still too dark) I find 1.5 is just right for shutter glasses.. Pob! |

Unclebob - you say that after installing the latest drivers - you get a perfect 3d experience. Q: is this using a 6800 series card? I can only get my 6800GT into 3d-stereo by using the ARB renderer, wich really lowers the image-quality. Did you accept the ARB renderer - or how did you succeed? I run with 66.77 force and stereo drivers. Good times -koga |
