Hi:
I have a nVidia FX 5950 Ultra with 61.77 XP & Stereo Drivers.
For example, I can use the wireless e-dimensional 3D glasses with the game Call of Duty, NFS Underground, etc...
I have downloaded 3D example movies but I can't play the movies.

Can U help me?

Regards

Have you set 'nVidia' in the shutter-glasses settings for the menu '3D Page Flip' choice ?

If so, is the nVidia driver enabled ?

Enabling the driver with a hotkey apparently does not always work.

Let us know exactly what you are doing.

Using the Stereoscopic Player:

- I load the video:

- I select in the Menu View->Viewing Method->NVIDIA Stereo Driver
(I see the message for FULLSCREEN ONLY)

I have tried the option 'enabling the driver with a hotkey' and the option 'always enabled' and the results are the same: in fullscreen mode I can't see the video with the glasses.

What I don't know is what you say about '3D Page Flip'. Do you mean with the e-d activator program?

What more information do you need?

Sorry for my english...

My comments are for StereoMovie Maker.
In your reply, you mention Stereoscopic Player.
That programme is by Peter Wimmer.
Peter will not read this thread because it does not mention Stereoscopic Player.

Can you tell me if it works with StereoMovie Maker ?

Anonymous 2(it helps if people give their name)
are you using StereoMovieMaker or Stereoscopic Player ?

Now I read this thread :-)

I'm aware of the problem that the NVIDIA output method does not work on some systems whereas on some it works without any problems. If somebody could tell me the reason, I would be very happy.

I'll review and partly rewrite the NVIDIA mode in one of the next versions to track down the problem. In the meantime, follow this general hints:

* Install newest player version
* Install newest NVIDIA driver version
* Activate the NVIDIA Stereo Driver. Activating by hotkey never works since the default hotkey is assigned to another function in Stereoscopic Player
* Install newest DirectX version (currently version 9)
* Configure a resolution of 100 or 120 Hz for all resolutions in the driver settings.
* Make sure your monitor supports this refresh rate.
* Make sure the NVIDIA test application works with these settings.
* Try different resolutions in Stereoscopic Player (can be set in File->Settings dialog). Common resolutions are 800 x 600 and 1024 x 768.
* Don't forget to switch to fullscreen mode. The NVIDIA stereo driver does not work in windowed mode.

If non of these suggestions help, wait for the next player version :-(

By the way, there is some difference between the NVIDIA output of Masuji's StereoMovie Player and my Stereoscopic Player. Whereas Masuji's code is based on DirectX 9, I use DirectX 7 (for higher compatibility reasons). This makes no difference in practice, since non of the DirectX 9 features are necessary for video playback.

I never knew that :-)

Trying to use this with haunted castle and my projector. Anaglyph works fine but when I try the nvidia driver it flips back and forth in 3D and have tried all resolutions. Any ideas?

Here's what I posted recently on another thread:

To 99.9% of all projectors, the following answer applies: Pageflipped 3D never works, since the projectors buffer the images internally.

The remaining 0.1% are CRT projectors (very rare nowadays) and some DLP which work in pageflipping mode at 60 Hz.

Solution 1: Use two DLP projectors and build a passive stereo projection system using polarizers and a silver screen.

Solution 2: Use anaglyphs. Stereoscopic Player can convert your DVDs on-the-fly to anaglyph (http://mitglied.lycos.de/stereo3d). It also supports the passive setup described above.

Do you have detailed information or a link on how to setup a two DLP projector system?

The basic principle for a dual DLP projector system is quite simple: Such a passive projection system uses polarized light to separate left and right image. You use two DLP projectors and connect them to separate VGA or DVI ports of your graphic card. A dual head card is necessary, of course. Mount polarizers in front of the lenses, rotated by 90‹to get 45‹polarisation for the left and 135‹polarisation for the right image. Since most screen don't preserve polarization of light, you need a special silver screen for 3D projection. To view the stereo images, you need polarization glasses, cheap paper glasses are available for less than 1 Euro/Dollar. Important: LCD projectors don't work since they emit pre-polarized light!

If you are interested in 3D videos, use Stereoscopic Player and select the dual screen output viewing method (View->Viewing Method->Dual Screen Output). If you own a professional graphic card supporting quadbuffered OpenGL, you can also use the player's OpenGL viewing method.

If you are interested in 3D gaming, you need a NVIDIA graphics card and NVIDIA's consumer stereo driver. There's a hack available to enable dual screen output with this driver (by default, only pageflipping and anaglyphs are supported).

Ultimate G's is an encrypted DVD and my GplMpgDec MPEG-Decoder (which you may have installed) does not support decryption for legal reasons. But if you mail me, I can offer a solution :-)

This weekend I used the e-d activator interlaced and the optimized anaglyh option and sort of got a 3d effect, it was better than reagular 2d.

Peter is there anyway to use your system with a computer game for anaglyph instead of using the nvidia driver?

No, my player can be used for video (and image) playback only. It cannot replace the NVIDIA stereo driver.
