Hey there. I recently acquired for free a Visette headset from a friend of a friend of a friend... whose dad ran the setup. Anyways. All I have is the headset itself and no box that is apparently required to connect it to. Just wondering if the VGA is just passed through to specific pins or what? I'm not too worried about any tracking or anything like that right now just wondering if it'll be possible to get it up and running on my system with reasonable effort. If you got any information please post a reply so we can get in contact, or post some links, I've done some looking and haven't come up with anything and doubting it's possibility., so I could use the help, thanks |

This is everything I found, and it looks like the control box is an absolute necessity... http://www.cs.aue.auc.dk/~rea/benogo/ |

Orion- It depends on which model of visette you have. If it is a Visette 2, you can input PAL video to it over 2 wires. I would be happy to assist in any way possible. Jared Hargrave President Arcadian Virtual Reality www.arcadianvr.com |

it's a visette 2 pro, indeed :-) however :-( I'm in the US, if I'm not mistaken everything is NTSC here correct? So there is no way to passthrough the vga? |

Hi, I have a partial Visette 2 head set, nad I`m wondering, what is missing, if & how much they will cost for me to replace missing parts. for anyone who knows the internals of the headset, maybe you can help me. First I notice there is no motor to set the distance between the eyepieces, although the driveshaft & gear that moves the eyepieces is there and working. I could probably make a replacement myself, if needed. I think most of the focus system in missing also ? - the two adjusters on the sides have nothing attached to them, and the lens holder component has a hole, where I imagine the focus is controlled from. Also, there is only one lens for each eye. It is thick lens and it seems that the eyepiece rubber fits onto it. The LCD & tracking systems are missing too What LCD size does the Visette 2 use?, how & where do they fit? As for the tracking, I know the original system was a Polhemus Insidetrack, and I have heard that this has been replaced my the patriot in some cases. I am not too bothered about a tracker yet, as unless I can get the rest of it sorted, I see no point on replacing the expensive part yet I have no control box for the visette, just an almost empty head set. I would be very appreciative of any help anyone can give, and would like to be emailed. catty_sim@hotmail.com If anyone one wants pics of what parts I have, to help what is missing, let me know, and I`ll get the sent to you. Thanks, Simon |
