If you've heard me in the topic on anachrome glasses, then you are wondering why I am pissed off and want to replace them so quick... :(

It's because the ananchrome lenses are giving me a HEADACHE! It doesn't kick in for about 4 hours, but when it does, it really hurts :Z. Despite the lack of colorshifting and ghosting that I have acheived with these lenses, I can't stand the headache... anachrome lessens retinal rivary so you dont notice it while you play (no red flicker)... until that awful headache kicks in!

To fix this at no cost, I have an idea for 3d glasses that should allow us all to view solid 3D with mirror glasses. It's basically a set of periscope glasses that fuse above-below split-scrreen images. For details, go here: http://www.goliathindustries.com/vb/VB3D.html and take a look at spike's 3d glasses.

Unfortunately, I have not found a gaming driver that displays images in above-below format. I have gone far and wide on google, and I have heard of some drivers that do support this, but none that can be downloaded except for the eyescream drivers, which I could not get because I dont have a cd...

Can someone PLEASE give me a driver that will provide above-below format for my D3D games?

on another note, I'd like to say that I'm willing to revise the glasses to view side-by-side images if i can't get them in above-under. I'd also like to say that I am a novice programmer, and I'm willing to do a little coding to make this work (i cannot write a custom driver from scratch).

Also, I've heard of getting split screen as an error. In other words, is it possible to make the nVidia drivers split the screen? And a finial idea is making use of dual monitor output to put two images on one monitor by hacking the drivers (don't tell me to do that with hardware, I don't have two outputs on my card)...

Retinal rivalry from anaglyph "colors" (actually shades, not colors :-) is only one of many causes of viewing "discomfort", and it actually is not usually the thing that causes the worst types of headaches. Bad headaches are usually caused by stereoscopic errors, such as image distortion. This is because the worst headaches usually involve the eye muscles. Using mirrored devices for either recording or viewing is one of the most common ways to introduce image distortion, because of the variable angles of the mirrors and distances and angles to the image perspectives, and the eye muscles will compensate for small errors for a while (at best) but eventually (probably sooner than later) will cause very bad headaches of the worst kind.
One of the few easy ways to avoid image distortion relative to the image and the viewer is to use the dual monitor approach with one mirror. You can do this by adjusting the angles of the monitors.
OTOH, it is very problematic to correct image distortion for dual paired images on one monitor with a viewer with more than one mirror, or two monitors with a viewer with more than one mirror. The only way to do that using one monitor is to apply a keystone distortion correction to only _one_ of the perspectives, and the only way I know how to do that is with compositing software. With two monitors and a viewer with more than one mirror, it quickly turns into a "tug-of-war" effort of trying to find matching angles between all the monitors and mirrors. Trust me... it is a nightmare :-)
Obviously, because of this, moving your head is much more of a problem than you might think, even if you are able to find a "potentially corrected" scenario. Because of stereoscopic errors that can be introduced by all the possible variations, holding your head in one place is usually crucial.

hmm... i knew retinal rivary wasnt the only problem, but i've fixed the headache problem by now. The headache was caused by the fact that the gun was being displayed on opposite parts of the screen, which I didn't think was a huge problem until i fixed it and noticed the difference.

However, the image is still pretty dim, and I would like to try displaying the stereo pairs in above-below format, since I have a nice lego set and some k'nex which should be very good for holding and adjusting mirror setups...

err... thanks for the ... err... useful... reply

i have recently been thinking of a polarization system for 3d glasses that would work exactly like shutter glasses that use over-under format - but without the price.

would someone PLEASE tell me how to do split screen with nVidia or other software?
