The question is how much would be us , the gamers ready to pay for playing 3D games only with a 3D Display , without the head-aches , the tireness that the head-mounted devices , shutter-glasses are giving us. |

About 4000 $ for a good autostereoscopic 3D display. But you will not get the wide angle filed of view effect witch can give you HMD or stereoscopic projection. Stereoscopic projection device with passive polarization glasses will be better soution ... |

When the autostereoscopic displays are under $1000 I think they will gain popularity on the consumer market. When they drop to $500 or under is when the gamers will pick them up. After that point, I'm sure, ColorTV and CRT monitors would become totally obsolete. But until that day... |

Autostereoscopic without a sweet spot, of course. If it had a sweet spot, especially if the image could reverse when viewed outside of a sweet spot, it would remain a niche item. I'd be surprised if a large enough market would pay much more than $200 premium for such a display. We already know that the premium video cards are not much more than $200 over the cost of a quality mainstream video card. Thus, the customer sees a total premium of $400, or a trade-off between getting a video card or a monitor. |
