I've switched to Wicked3D's drivers from Revelators and I love it, but Thief won't run worth a damn. It looks great in 3D with sync. doubling, but I move the mouse and nothing happens for 4-5 seconds. I loaded the pre-set config file for Thief from Metabyte and the same thing happens. Anybody know how to correct this, or do I need a Voodoo card installed to make Thief run properly in 3D? |

Well, I figured it out on my own. I was using the latest and greatest drivers from Nvidia when I had the problems with Thief. So, I switched back to an earlier release (530, I think) and the problem is gone. I imagine Metabyte needs to update their software to keep up with the latest detonator release. |

That's a good question. As far as I can tell, they're basically the same, except that the pro drivers are available for purchase by anybody who wants to try them. The 5.01 2000 drivers are for people who bought a company's glasses that licensed wicked3d drivers and put them on their own install cd. Therefore, when you go to install the 2000 drivers, you have to have the original install cd in your drive before the setup will even work. |
