I finally managed to make Detonators 23.11 + Stereo drivers work on Windows XP. 1)Install Reference Detonator 23.11 (NOT Elsa ones) 2)Install Stereo Driver 3)Download and install GeForce Tweak Utility 4)Go to system32 directory and delete ALL nvrs*.dll files 5)Open GeForce Tweak Utility and on Stereo panel click on MAKE IT WORK button. Close GeForce Tweak Utility. 6)go to START menù and select EXECUTE (or something like that, i have got italian windows XP). On the next appearing windows write "regedit" and click OK. On the left of the following windows you should be able to see a sort of directory tree. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/NVIDIA Corporation/GLOBAL and select STEREO3D directory. On the right part of the window now you should see a list of names followed by some numbers. Click twice on StereoViewerType and in the following window change value to "1" if you have ELSA Revelator, "2" if you have ASUS glasses. Close all windows. Now Stereo should work correctly. Go to Advanced Screen Properties to tweak settings. If you have flickering while playing using Stereo, there is a topic explaining how to eliminate flickering on Windows 2000, go there and read how to disable ACPI. hope it helps |

Hi, after fiddeling 4 hours with gtu, regedit and 21.83, 22.80 and 23.11 i finaly found out the same you are posting here ;) Now it works really smoothly in allmost all games: Quake 2 - Works Half-Life - Works Quake 3 - works not because of other probelm RtCW - works "sort of", in stereo mode i see with the left eye the normal game screen and with the right one some crap that builds up as i move on the map (parts of the menu, lights getting brigther and brighter, the longer looking at them...) just wanted to let you know that it works for other people too Cu UloPe |

I've got similar (or more correctly, 'had' similar) setup to you. WinXP, 32.11 plus stereo "driver", Elsa Revelator (wired) glasses, and my card is an Elsa Gladiac GeForce 2 GTS. This all worked fine except that I found 23.11 really unstable (particularly with IE6, strangely enough) and I got lots of BSODs. After 2 days I think I pulled the wire loose and so I don't get black squares any more. While I wait for nvidia to release a better driver and I find / purchase a new pair of glasses, I've dropped back down to 21.81 (but still getting BSODs in D3D!). Best results were in Unreal Tournament at 1024x768 with a refresh rate of 120Hz, but Quake3 looked pretty good as well. I did have a lot of problems with the glasses dropping out of stereo when I moved the mouse too much (which is a real problem in a FPS). I hope my comments help. |

*KA-BOOM* WinXP, NV23.11 & the stereo driver nuked my system constantly... i didn't get the revelator even running in the medical test-image... although i installed them *exactly* as Taiki wrote... Should i try a previous detonator (21.83 or 12.40) to get my beloved revelator running under XP ???? (otherwise i've got to keep my 2nd OS - WinME installed for full 3d-functionality...) Plz, give a hint!!!!!! Whoever finds a misspelling, orthographic errors or other crap here, may keep it ;-) |

So now i solved the prob . I tried it on a absolut clean system but this time without the geforce tweak utility ( i think it´s absolutly useless for solving the problem). Install the 23.11 det --> reboot . thann install the stereo driver and delete all nvrs*.dll files in the system32 directory (they are only help files in different languages). Now everything should work. I tried Return to Castle WOlfenstein and it runs perfectly in stereo but i do not understand why all my other 3d games are not in stereo ( UT, NFS Porsche,Red Faction,Ghost recon, AvP2 and a few more) they only show the normal game screen and not this 2 in 1 like in rtcw. Hope it helped a bit. |

fine to hear, that your problems are solved. For my part i gave it up (for this time) trying to get games running instead of playing them... i installed my 2nd OS (WinME) and now i'm going to install the original Elsa-Gladiac drivers... I think it's better to wait for a new release of these xp-drivers.. (but I'll try it then again)... concerning of not using the tweak-utils: I also tried it first this way... (always used an image of a fresh installed xp).. but the problem remained... thx willi |

I am STILL not able to activate my Glasses. My system: Thunderbird 700 Expox KTA 3 GeForce 2 Ti Nvidia Driver 23.11 Elsa Revelator IR Glasses or Miro Fanatix Glasses 1.Installed 23.11, StereoE and deleted the nvrs*.dll in the system32 dir. 2.Was then able to access the Stereo Properties. 3.Selected the game Hitman, forced refresh rate to 100hz/800x600 16/32bit 4.Checked the Registry, saw alot of new entries at: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D 5.Installed GTU Tool, activated it and selected Revelator and Make it work. 6.Checked the Registry, saw that GTU deleted all but 5 entries in the Stereo3D section. 7.Started Hitman in GL mode 800x600, it flickered at 100hz but the Glasses(Rev) did not work 9.Tried the Medical Image, the Test Application and Stereo Viewer, ended at Bluescreen crash most of the time, but when it worked the glasses did not work 8.Used GTU to switch to fanatix glasses with whiteline code, changed glasses (hardware) 9.Started Hitman in GL mode 800x600, it flickered at 100hz (crosseye I think) but the Glasses(fanatix) did not work 10.Re-added the 3D Registry entries using the nv*.reg files in the system 32 dir 11.Opened Display Properties Stereo, selected the game Hitman, forced refresh rate to 100hz/800x600 16/32bit 12.Started Hitman in GL mode 800x600, it flickered at 100hz but the Glasses(fanatix) did not work 13.Started Quake Arena in GL mode,it flickered at 100hz but the Glasses(fanatix) did not work 14.Switched back to Revelator glasses tried Hitman and Quake, flicker yes, glasses no 15.Tried many many more things... As I see it the card displays the 3D flicked in GL but does not activate the glasses and some programs allways crash with bluescreen. Most common bluescreens: nv4_disp.dll adress BF9F8F43 base at BF9B8000 DateSTamp 3c06dbbf Stop: 0x0..8E (0xc0..5,0xBF9F8F43,0xF2E07B68, 0x0..0) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Stop: 0x0..50 ... |
