can anybody help me i need to format my hard drive but as xp has no dos i am not sure how to format from within this OS thanks in advance for any help.

explorer->select drive(not open or explore drive)
-> right mouse button -> format RTFM!!!!!

or use Start-> Run...
type command (its really command.com but command works) then push enter and presto you get a command prompt

you can also go into your bios and have cdrom boot up first, have xpcd in and do it from there....

my bad, I only did it that way from my old win98sec, that's why I said to have cdrom boot first.. SORRY!!!
