Have a look on this: http://nvworld.ru/docs/sq4e.html After making this hack, profesional OpenGl stereoscopic modes on Quadro 4 are realy available. I have tested this with Ti 4400 and Deton. 41.03 ... The result is Quadro 4 750 XGL. Both HW page flipping and redirection two 2 VGA output works ... See www.stereovison.net for application witch can use this mode ... |

That is big news. I thought NVidia had protected GeForce4 against softQuadro, but they must have found a way around it. ...now I regret buying a GeForce4 with only *one* VGA out. Alex |

http://www.guru3d.com ...or from http://nvworld.ru/docs/sq4e.html as Michal refers to. Michal, do you know if this (and the latest RivaTuner) can release the stereoscopic capabilities of the 40.72 drivers? and if there's further support for dual VGA stereoscopy (left/right on separate VGA outs)? Alexandr: YES ! I use it with the WHQL certified 40.72 drivers and I had turned my GeForce 4 Ti 4600 into fully functional Quadro 4 900 XGL (under w2k) ! It works even with 41.03 drivers ... But I do not suggest to use them - they (41.03) produce application menu acces freez during CPU overload ... 40.72 worsk O.K. .... Just a technical notice: In addition to carefuly following the instructions from the link, you should unistal the previous drivers (from the normal Control Panel - Add/Remove program) ... According dual stereoscopic output: Yes. Redirection of HW page flipping into differetn VGA connectors is fully suported in the advanced OpenGl setup. In Twined mode you see left image on one monitor and right ont the second. Optimal for passive stereoscopic projection. The only on problm is that the VGA are not 100% genlocked |

about the dual stereo output does the geforc4 card has to have 2 vga outputs or is dvi also fine? |

DVI can work as VGA out with proper reduction. I have testeed following setup: True Quadro 4 900 XGL (2xDVI) True Quadro 4 750 XGL (VGA + DVI) GF 4 Ti 4400 hacked to Q4 750 XGL (VGA+DVI) GF 4 Ti 4600 hacked to Q4 900 XGL (VGA+DVI) In all sitation the DVI was working correctly as second VGA .... All this testing work is a part of beta tesing of my last code - DepthQ (see: Software section of www.depthq3d.com). We use the 2 VGA output as a source for passive stereoscopic projection ... |

Michal You say that "Redirection of HW page flipping into differetn VGA connectors is fully suported in the advanced OpenGl setup". Is that only for OpegGL games which have a "native stereoscopic" option (such as Quake3)? Does dual VGA work for Direct3D as well? Alex |

Alex: Yes. I speak only about support for "native stereoscopic" OpenGl application as Quake 3, Quake 2, and SIN + other software supporting this ... It does not works for Direct3D stereo wrapers nor OpenGL stereo wrapers ... For this situation the overpriced CyViz device is still nessesery ... I know that a German group of developers originaly working for Elsa work on D3D wrapers with redirection targetted to passive stereoscopic projection, but the work is not finished. Maybe nVida will implement this in drivers later ... |
