Hi,

Just received the second unit of i-glasses SVGA 3D from i-glasses. Anyway after further testing of the unit, I found out 3D is not really usable. The left lens image and right lens image is not really consistent. right lens seems to exhibit more redish color compare to left eye. Also very strange problem with left eye image where I can see very visible verticle strip while right eye image looks fine. Disable 3D function while leaving the 3D page flipping on confirm that both lens show quite similar image without visible verticle strip. This shown that my video card is working fine. Also the screen is alternating between darker and lighter image every 3-4 seconds when enabling 3D on my right eye lens.

Anyone with i-glasses 3D please post your experience here. If you guys don't have this problem then my second unit is also not in very good condition.

One last update, as mention before that i-glasses support 120Hz in the website. THIS IS NOT TRUE. My test on second unit still show the MAX refresh rate supported is 100Hz. I'm not sure how other guys manage to set it to 120Hz. I think 120Hz pointed out in the manual actually refer to 60Hz for the screen which will automatically double to 120Hz. 60Hz in 3D mode wouldn't double the refresh rate as the flicker is really bad.

If all the units for i-glasses display this type of behaviour, then my advice is 100" projector would be a better experience compare to HMD although you can't have a headtracking.

Email me if anyone wish to discuss in more detail or post here for everyone to share the info.

I have no problems with my i-glasses. If you are having color differences in the lenses, you can fix that in the setup. It is true that the i-glasses do not support 120Hz refresh. This is refering to the 60hz doubling which works ONLY IN 2D mode (check the manual) for 3d you have to "settle" for 100hz which is completely flicker free. Also, the light to dark thing, you will encounter that if you leave your i-glasses in 3d mode while viewing a 2d screen. It is a result of the unit trying to sync to the nonexsistent 3d image. So, do like the manual says, when you're looking at 2d switch to 2d mode. Set your desktop to 60hz. Set the stereo refresh rate in the nvidia stereo panel to 100hz and all will be fine. :)

Sorry, one more thing; as far as the vertical strip? No idea. Light to dark in 3d sounds like maybe you have it set on 3d2 instead of 3d1? Anyway, hope I was of any help.

Thanks Jared.

I had experiment with both 3d1 and 3d2. Both is having the same problem. The right eye lens always had visible verticle strip while left lens is perfectly OK. I noticed the same behaviour with the second unit. I'm going to try out on another PC to verify it is not a machine issue. So far in 3D mode (playing D3D games with stereo on) the lens is still alternating between light and dark screens. I'll try to capture the image for both lens (using photoshop to simulate the effect).

Hi ku,

The problem still exist after playing around with the 2 units I had. The right lens still show very visible verticle strips in 3D mode. I'm going to return the unit and hope for better HMD model coming out.
