Folowing information is taken from the
http://www.loewe.de/english WWW (Ergo line
of TV):

Specially developed for
Photo-CD players, this switch
increases sharpness for more
still-picture depth. Activating
the Photo-CD switch on Loewe
100-Hz televisions ensures
absolutely flicker-free,
high-resolution stills (ABAB
operation).

This future make this TV ideal for stereoscopy ...
I am just working on external system for
LCD glasses synchronization to this TV ...

Hello Michal,
do you have contact with the manufactor Loewe Opta. If so are they interested in your work?
Another way for 100 Hz flickerfree 3d Video could be the use an external field doubler like Como FD 625 and a PC Monitor.
Field Doubler Como FD 625:

Michal, you are fantastic! I got a pair of i-Art 3D Glasses for TV. They have a special device for taking the frequency from the screen. Even if this is not quite elegant yet, it will be worth a try. The shutterglasses are the same in the tv version as well as for the computer version. I have a Loewe dealer around the corner an can hardly wait to check it out. I hope it will work. By the way i am quite satisfied with i-Art 3d, they are the best and cheapest glasses i could find on the market. 3dtv version +-150 DM (with transmitter) extra glasses 50 DM that is quite a difference than a year ago where i had to by i-glasses for 250 at taeuber's www.3d-video.de

The key for the testing is switching to the
Photo-CD mode. I am afraid that, the i-Art
glasses will derivate the 1/2 frequence
from the composite input video signal than nessesery. Yo will see a normal flat 2D picture
as the result ....

I um just working on an device
witch will modify the input from device similar
to the I-Art TV sync box (its NuVision equivalent)
to the higer frequence ....

I made my test on the flatscreen and the normal tv. We tried to connect I-Art Glasses via the "Plug" for taking the frequency from the screen itself. Even if this is not a very elegant solution, it could work. But Loewe has very a very thick glass panel in front of the screen so that you cannot approach the "pixes" closer than 1.5 cm. I think that could be a reason why it didn't work. But we will try again.

Michal, is it complicated to build such a sync doubler, because that is of course the more elegant solution?

I asked loewe if there is a way to get the 100 Hz out of the TV, perhaps it is also possible to trigger the glasses directly.

How did your test work out?

Still working on the problem ...
It is much more simple to make from 50 Hz
25 than from 50 Hz 100 Hz. An chip with precise external time base synchronization is nessesery ... I hope we will finish the work during a month or so ....

Dear Michal,
I think you are right, the 3D Effect works only on the upper part of the screen. Loewe has been testing the I-Art glasses. I have to find out something on the trigger cirquit. Any Idea who could know that?

O.K. I will describe you more precize,
what I am trying to do ..
The NuShades control box (described on
www.stereo3d.www) have an VESA-3 min DIN-3
output. You will get an signal in TTL logic
at 25 or 30 Hz for driving an IR emitor
(you can put NuVision 60 GX, Stereographic
products or Elsa relevator in this connector).
This signal is synchronized with the
pass throw video signal going into the TV.
If we make from this signal 50 or 60 Hz signal
we will be able to sync to 100/120 Hz TV.
We must do from low frequence signal:
LLRRLLRRLLRRLLRR
an hi frequence one:
LRLRLRLRLRLRLRLR
L and R indiccate, with LCD glass is open.
The lenght of L and r is 1/100 or 1/120 sec ..
The troube with the is, that we get
LL and RR as an one TTL logic signal
of the leng 1/50 or 1/60 s as the source for procesing.
We must measure how long is the RR and LL
and switch exactly in the half time of
this period ...
In adition, mabe that it will be nesesery to generate folowing signal
phase shif +LRLRLRLR
the phase shift will be an time shift
of the signal, with needs the TV electronic
for the signal analogue signal digitalization
and 100Hz signal generating (the 100Hz TV
does not show the picture inmediatly, it store
it in videomemory and the procesing takes some time) ....
