The 56.64 drivers still support the registry hack to enable all stereo modes. Copy the following lines in a text file with reg extension and execute it. -------------------------- REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\Stereo3D] "ShowAllViewerTypes"=dword:00000001 -------------------------- |

Thank you for the hint Peter. I don't understand why nVidia is still hiding most viewer types. Do you know of any hidden modes not listed? What happened to the ASUS-mode? Christoph |

After testing e.g. the dual output mode i start to understand :-(. Activating had crahed my computer. After setting desktop to cloned mode it started to work, but it was producing corrupted image on the second monitor (yes both moditor were set to all identical parameters). No back to the officialy supported modes: The stereo drivers do not correctly work even with such basic tests as 3D Mark 2003 (corrupted test 2,3). They do not wrap OpenGl applications at all (it shows only left eye view, not right). The only one application with works at least a bit stable is Peter player. It looks like no suppor for pixel shaders ... Testin was done on GF4 Ti 4800 126 MB RAM. Windows XP. |

I've had better luck with these new drivers, however my revelators blink like a biatch and won't hold stereo mode, i.e. they flash to stereo mode but mostly kick out. I have two pairs so I don't think it's a hardware issue with the revs, although someone mentioned flickering and fixed the connection beteen the wires and the LCDs? The disply driver is now displaying on the CRT as stereo. I have a dual head gf4 ti4200 8x agp. The other head is hooked up to my X1 projector. Even though the display is set to CLONE, I see no stereo image on the projector display at all (i.e. dual off-set images) I'm not complaining. This somehow started working after I gave up on it. Well kinda works.. ne else using revelators with this driver? Has ne gotten a DLP projector to throw a stereo image? Maybe the dual head is causing problems? Both heads r analong as I use a DVI to VGA converter on the DVI head. Thanks! |

The driver on the display is working perfectly. If only the da&n revelators would stop flickering and stay locked in it would be great!! I get glimpses of Tiger Woods 2004 in 3D(!!) but mostly I get a headache It locks in for a second or two and then flashes again for a few secs etc, flipping between stereo mode as it goes.. frustrating as heck! Can any one help me please? TIA! |

I've had no luck with the new drivers. I'll try the reg hack to see if it helps. I noticed when I downloaded them from Nvidia that the footnote said "compatable with all FX based cards". It may just not work with the ti4400. the 43.23 drivers worked with most of my games but the overall framerate and graphics quality was not as good as the 53.xx drivers. If I can't get these drivers to work then I'll probably go back to the earlier ver. so I can play IL2 in stereo on my X1. Nothin' like the 10', 90deg FOV to get the heart pumpin'. John |

Blues: Becouse it makes standard drivers upgrade impossible (lack of several functions in old drivers), becouse the old drivers do not support vertex shaders , becouse the new drivers support more functions than the others (OSD, dual screen output, Sharp3D notebooks support e.t.c.). And becouse I am a software developer and I must test my code with the latest drivers available. |

Yes, dual-ouput works for me, but only after selecting nView display mode -> Dualview before activating dual-output stereo. Works for test application, D3D-games, image viewer. In the image viewer select options: page-flipping, 32bit. Haven't tested any OpenGL yet. Christoph |

I successfully activated all output modes of the driver, including dual output and all other hidden modes. However, I did test these modes with Stereoscopic Player only. In order to make dual output work, you have to use exactly the same settings (resolution, color depth, refresh rate) for both sreens before acitvating the driver. |

I've got strange 56.64 probs with my TI440. Drivers themselves work fine until I install the 3D stereo drivers (56.64) for the E-Dimensionals. Then I just get bad corruption and eventually a crash. It does the same on Unreal2004, BBFVietnam and Halflife2 so it is across the board..... Any ideas? (Oh tried older stereo drivers and RivaTuner but no luck.) |

Probably a dumb question :When used with a dual display card and hooked to two projectors, does the Stereoscopic player ,with a 3D interleaved DVD,displays two half resolution and half frequency images or does it convert both to the projectors' settings ?I understand it does, but I could not find the clear information . Thanks, Georges |

56.64's work great for me Just a shame that Call of Duty still crashes at odd times - COD is one of the built-in game configurations although it has a N/A rating. UT2004 looks great - copied the settings from UT2003 in the registry - but the new onslaught games feature lots of on screen HUD items that don't look right unless convergence is decreased, so you really need 2 different set-ups for this game but the hotkeys do the trick. Had someone ever received NVIDIA's stereo SDK? I found in their website, a documernt called "NVIDIA's Stereoscopic 3D Development Guide" and as mentioned in it, I sent e-mail to 3DStereoDev@nvidia.com to request for their stereo SDK. But, I have not received any reply from them for a month even after sending the second inquiry. Are they no longer providing the stereo SDK? Or is their any conditions to obtain the SDK from them? Anyone know how to obtain the SDK on the net? I appreciate any information on this. |

I'm using the elsa revelator glasses with a TNT 2 graphics card on a win98-system. Until now I used the old revelator driver for TNT/TNT2/Geforce. I have thought about upgrading my graphics card but before doing so I wanted to know wether 3D is possible with a newer driver. For this purpose I installed the newest nvidia driver and the stereo 3D driver (forceware). I also checked that the graphics card driver is compatible to win98 and TNT2. Now if I test the 3D mode in the display/graphics card settings, the images on the monitor are interlaced as they should be, but my revelator glasses are not working (no shuttering). Does anybody know what's going wrong? Kristian |

I have an Asus V8200 T2 Deluxe board and upgraded from the 31.40G Asus driver (build in 3d driver) which worked perfect to the NVidiadriver 56.72 toghether with the Nvidia 56.64 3d driver. And now nothing in 3d works!? When I try to change to 3d mode everything and go to the VRviewer the computer keeps on displaying 2 pictures next to eachother instead of through eachother. I even tried a clean install on an other partition the effect was zero... any suggestions??? I tried the registry settings... but no effects.. thx in advance |

Peter and M.H.: How long ago did you request/receive the stereo SDK? I found "NVIDIA's Stereoscopic 3D Development Guide" on nVIDIA's site, but the page it is on hasn't been updated since August 2001: http://www.nvidia.com/object/3D_Stereoscopic_Dev.html What is included in the SDK? |

One more thing... FarCry works great in stereo with the 56.64 drivers! The vegetation is fun to look at, it's everywhere. Wow! I had to turn down the water detail because there is a bug in the reflections with the stereo drivers, on my card at least. I also had to adjust the convergence to my liking. Somebody else try it and tell me what you think. |

Flint: The StereoBLK SDK contains a simple example how to fip between 2 DirectDraw (better to say Direct3D texture) surfaces. It is useful when you want to write a stereo still image or stereo video visualisation application. Limited sue for profesional applications or game development. |

Does the StereoBLK SDK add anything that I can't get with DirectX, or is it just a higher-level API to make it easier for noobs to program 3D apps? Also, are they actually still distributing it? TIA |

The SDK just shows how to add a special signature to a DirectShow surface which tells the driver to treat it as stereo surface. You need the structure and constants from the SDK to do this, they are not part of Microsoft's Direct SDK, they are proprietary NVIDIA stuff. |

I'm using the 56.72 drivers successfully on my machine (GeforceFX 5200 Go). The registry hack still works. Maybe you have to deinstall both the display and stereo driver and reinstall it from scratch using the update driver funktion in the control panel instead of the setup file (although you still have to run setup so that the files get unpacked to a temporary directory). I had to do this in order to make 56.72 work... |

Ah, OK. So nVidia's setup program is flawed. So you need to run setup just until the files are unpacked and then cancel out and do it yourself. I'll try that. Thanks. |
