I recently "rode" this movie at Six Flags Over Texas (DFW area, USA). It's a 3D movie coupled with the moving seats, making a convincing motion simulator ride. Verdict: 1.) Hilarious! 2.) Extremely amusing! 3.) Highly recommended! Uses polarized 3D glasses (unfortunately they're the cheap flimsy lens kind). The separate images didn't filter as well as I would've liked to each of my eyes (the periphery seems "cloudy" or something?)... HOWEVER: The 3D was still very effective, added much to the ride, and the way it was used in the movie was clever... and quite funny. All integrated well with the motion of the chairs to make a really fun ride. Oh yeah, your kids will love it too. |

>the periphery seems "cloudy" or something That's a classic problem with the polarized approach: it only works up to a specific angle of incidence, beyond which it essentially becomes a kind of translucent grey. |

I made the original post. Sorry I don't have any personal links, nor could I find much via web search, short of the lame link at: http://www.sixflags.com/parks/overtexas/index.asp Seems silly that they repeatedly refer to the ride as "4-D" - like that has some serious meaning. (Okay, I'll bite... yes, movie does have a time component... but somehow I don't think that's what they meant!) I'm sure they'll have this ride at the other Six Flags parks in the US. I also thought I saw something about a Six Flags Belgium? |

Hey I got to try this yesterday in New Jersey! The glasses are very cheap yellow one's. But I thought the 3D was very good, maybe because the screen was so big.. Now there was no ghosting, is this because it was a cartoon? Mike |

I used to be (ok, I still am) obsessed with theme parks and roller coasters. "4-D" is a term to describe 3-D movies where they use In-theater special effetcs (fog, rain, light flashes, movement, etc.). |
