Hi Everybody,

I purchased the above (Wow3d World of Wonders) set.

With one sentence: it is absolutely FANTASTIC.

Details:
The interface is less than desirable to anyone who is not intimately familiar with the stereo viewing concept and computer installation in general. It comes on 5 CDs, each installs separately and everything (over 5000 files) goes into one folder. There are no adequete instructions. So, up to this point it is less than mediocre. However, if you can pass this point and figure out how to view the actual pictures, from that point on it is, without any doubt, the greatest set of stereo 3d pictures I have ever encountered in my several decades long exposure to the 3d world.

Based on the logical naming of the files, I divided the set of about 1500 full size, great quality pictures, based on the country they were taken at, placed them in separate folders, which I named by the countries. Once that was done, I used the StereoPhotoMaker program (which comes on the first CD) to view the pictures. You will either have to use that, or use the same program to convert all .JPG files to .JPS files, if you like to use nVidia's own stereo viewer. However, the SPM program really better than the nVidia viewer (many options which are nonexistent in the nVidia viewer). And of course, it works fine with page-flipping, although with SPM you can choose any other viewing method (why would you, if pageflipping works on your computer?)

So, once you get through all the needed manipulations, you are looking forward to the most amazing "trip" around the world in spectacular 3d. When I went through the Scuba set (by the same company) I thought that there is no way they can outdo themselves, but they did. I am watching these pictures now well over a week, and I still didn't get to see all of them. I feel, as if I really going around the world, seeing the most spectacular places in superb 3d.

Should you choose to listen the music which comes with the program (.mp3 player and music files), you have to start them separately, and I wasn't particularly fond of the music itself, but with the same token you can put up any CD or .mp3 file of your choice and use those as background music.

Additionally there are some stereo-3d movie clips, I was not particularly impressed by those.

And as a reminder: the same company sells the 400+ Scuba set, most of them are underwater stereo 3d pictures, a breathtaking trip under the ocean. On the Wow3d CD there are plenty of small sized pictures from both the Scuba and their third set (Flowerpower), so you can "peek" what it is all about (that's why there are over 5000 files on the five CDs). I bought the Scuba set for 50 buck, well worth the money.

The cost of Wow3d first appears to be a bit steep, but if you consider the AMOUNT and the QUALITY, it is actually very inexpensive (64 Euro for the whole thing). If you are a stereo-3d buff, you can't afford not to have this product.

I swear, I have nothing to do with the company (:-), I was really that impressed by the products.

Gabor

I first though this thread was about WoW (World of Warcraft), but now I see it´s not. :(
