If you haven't already seen this, then it is worth checking out, if it's true it will blow the lid off everything in the console wars. The video shows that the next nintendo console will be a VR display and a lot more. http://www.onefed.com/media/NintendoON.wmv If it's fake well then a lot of gutted people and ashame for mass 3d. |

Seems to be fake. Just ask yourself: What does a VR device need a "rec" button for (it is shown at 3:49 in the video)? But I must admit the one who made this fake video put quite a lot of effort into it. |

Seems way too elaborate to be fake. I hope it's real. This might be the push VR has needed for the last 10 years!! |

That looks awesome. I can't believe it. The video is totally for real. But it did seem like it might be an optional add-on to the revolution. There was a part where it showed it hooked up to a gamecube and then a "?" system (the revolution?). Anyhow, if this is for real than nintendo really knows what they are doing. The future is now. |

to much disappointment i read that this is a fake. The creator of the video posted in some spanish forum, that he is fed up with how consles are made and wanted an innovating product to show case to the world. He said that we already the technology for this vr headset to be possible. But a company should just create for mass consumer lever. The above is what the guy said but in my own words. If you want to read it go here to the translated page and read it. You can read the forum comments on here where people are continuing to give their ideas. btw on the website that i have posted below, you don't have to register to add a comment instead you just need to supply a name and email address while you are writng a coment. Then you add a comment and check your email address and clcik the link in the email and then it loads your comments into that website comments board. I think it will be good to post comments on there and here as this guy has taken a while to create that video and even thought it's a fake it could one day be possibly done by a company. So i think if we show the companies out there through plenty of comments through all internet boards then perhaps these companies could see a console with VR goggles being an innovating product for mas consumer level. hers' the above link that i am talking about i have also posted it before http://joystiq.com/entry/1234000180043335/ |

dvdbunny - can't find the admission of forgery at that link , could you copy it here please. ty. what do you make of the part at approx. 5:52 where it shows the red highlight box over user's right foot - doesn't Quantum 3d has leg based motion tracker available or something- how cool would that be? DVD being inserted into the HMD? doesn't look ergonomically feasible does it? What the heck is 'proximity radar eye' mean? j |

I must congratulate with whoever made that video, because: 1) he is an admirer of Jaron Lanier for sure and he based some parts of that video on this interview: http://www.well.com/user/jaron/vrint.html 2) if such an object was real, it would be the ONLY case EVER of a new console living up to the hype. |

The nintendo revolution seems to be anything but a revolution. Sounds like it is just like the new sony P3 and xbox. What a disappointment. |

Don't get too disappointed yet, i think nintendo is just playing it down, you have to remember that the ps3 comes out in spring 2006 so there going to be at e3 again and so is nintendo, then they can finally hit the world with this vr device if it's real which i believe so then when they next reveal it, or the revolution then as it's so close to the ps3 release none of the companys will be able to steal nintendo's secrets and possibly nintendo will become the king. btw during the nintendo pre e3 press conference they kept talking about the right side of the brain, also nintendo of japan spokeman kept saying we want to keep our revolution a mystery for you to work out, so they give a few hints, well thats not word for word but go and watch you will see. anyway as they mention the brain, the brain is whats in this vr device, if you look at the video again the dvd slot for gaming is located on the right side, so this could be the mystery. i think the revolution is the HMD and theres more but i shall reveal later. |

Well, considering that Nintendo released pictures of the device, which looks like a small DVD player, I think we can assume that the video is a fake. Too bad. The "brain" looked really cool. |

Two things missing in the video which make it either a success or a failure. 1. Field of View 2. Resolution. |

i now believe that the nintendo on vr video is real look at a picture from the e3 show floor, nintendo was projecting this on a side wall http://img59.echo.cx/img59/7263/nintendoonwoohooooohooo6pd.jpg, they wanted to be discrete. People at the nintendo booth would'nt be able to see it from front on, but it was big if you were looking in from the side. I guess this is real then |

Sorry just for people that don't know, this supposedly nintendo virtual reality device is said to be called the 'Nintendo On' and as you see from the picture the words in big red is saying 'On' and the O is written exactly how it is in the video. |

I am quite disappointed, I have been browsing all over the net for lot's of Nintendo On and revolution news, and finally found that some gaming site had interviewed Pablo the so called creator of the Nintendo On video clip. They sent a whole load of questions to Pablo and he answered them back in an email, you can find the full interview here: http://nintendo-revolution.blogspot.com/ The second question is the following: By the way I have not changed the interviews spelling in anyway I have just copied and pasted it from the gaming site. In the clip, you anticipated a few things: talking about the different sides of the brain, the ability to create games as well as play them. How could you know these things before Reggie Fils-Aime talked about them at the press conference? Secondly, you anticipated that the Revolution could be connected to a computer monitor. Also, the reflection in the DVD being inserted seems to show the Revolution console. And the outlined console below the Gamecube (with a question mark on it) looks similar too. Did you really just guess all that? How do you explain that Reggie said ´Be prepared to let your right brain run wild´ after the clip was released? Pablo’s answer: It’s obvious they’re just coincidences. The thing is, when something is done sharing the same philosophy of doing things, coincidences increase. As I’ve said before, a part of myself thinks like Nintendo, I can anticipate their releases and intentions (obviously, this isn’t a rule, I sometimes fail, perhaps because of the influence of games by other companies, hahahahaha). The trick is mixing what I’d like Nintendo to do as a fan and what I believe they’re going to do as a company; it never fails. And about that thing of using both your brain sides, I think it would be quite succesful to allow users to create their own games. Nintendo has always taken care of making games that players can personalize, and I’m not talking about changing the colour of the menu, of course. The 64DD had the intention (relatively speaking) of exploiting the creative part of players allowing them to save or overwrite parts of a game. The most recent example is Animal Crossing, a game in which Nintendo has invested a lot of years, not regarding the technical section, but regarding the approach: the participation of the user in the creativity and the game. All this is already part of the past: just looking at things like this it was possible to infer Nintendo would talk about using both sides of the brain. Thay had talked about it in the past, though they didn’t say it in an E3 presentation. “Electroplacton” or “Nintendogs” are games that seem “irrelevant” compared to the spectacular games of PS3 or Xbox360, but Nintendo wanted them to be highlighted in this years’ conference. The reason is that they also reflect the idea of fostering users’ creativity in which Nintendo is so interested and which on the other hand is understimated by the competition. Now I read through the entire interview and also from lots of websites discussing the Nintendo On and to call these coincidences just does not buy it for me. I mean there are too many coincidences for such a video, if there was maybe two things from the video and from what we know about the revolution then I can understand it being a coincidence but we have over 30 different things that have hidden clues from the video that purport to the revolution. I won’t list all the clues here I found them on a Google search you could try that. Are we just kidding our selves, is this thing really a fake, is Nintendo going to offer us something completely different as in no virtual reality at all. I don't know anymore. Could Pablo really be working for Nintendo? Doesn’t Nintendo have offices all over the world? So could Pablo be from Nintendo of Spain? Who knows? Pablo continues to say in the interview that he made the video in 1 week. How is that possible? It’s way too professional for a single guy or even two guys to do in a 1 week time frame. If you've read the interview have you noticed he made an error, he said his 250 megabyte hard drive crashed and broke, 250 megabyte is nothing doesn’t he mean 250 gigabyte. For a video of that quality you wouldn't even be able to make much video with 250 megabytes. Maybe this is a clue as his English is very good he makes not many mistakes in writing, how could he make that mistake on the correct name of a hard rive. Also what if Pablo hit Nintendo right on the head with this concept video, perhaps Nintendo are really working on something like this and Pablo knocked Nintendo on the head with his idea and Nintendo got Pablo to deny it all in an interview. Or what if it's all viral marketing and Nintendo got Pablo to make the video and then deny it all, and they did this all just to hype up the revolution all over the net. And with Pablo being in Spain then their idea is out of US territory so any lied or legal issues pertaining to the Nintendo on can be fought over in Spanish law than US law, I am not sure about that one. Perhaps we have all be sucked into this an it's a fake but part of me still believes this is real. After the Virtual Boy was being sold Nintendo probably thought they made a mistake and their Virtual Boy was doing crap, so they probably wanted a Virtual Boy 2 but as the years went by they kept on putting it off as the technology wasn’t there for a mark 2. But probably in the last few years as they have seen technology getting cheaper and smaller they wanted to make a come back with this Virtual Boy 2 al la Nintendo On who knows? One thing that gets me is why is the offical colour of the Nintendo On white when the Revolution is blue, will the real Nintendo on have a matching colour to the revolution? I need more solid answers, too many coincidences my ass I feel this is real, what do you think? Also the thinking outside the box advert that is going round the net seems that you really do think outside of the box as in you see through a visor. As a visor is outside of a box. As the term ‘thinking outside of the box’ refers to the soul going beyond physical matter. There are many descriptions to the term Google it and you will know. If this video is fake then Nintendo better start making the Nintendo On for the next generation as I think Microsoft and Sony will jump the band wagon and make this for a PS4 or Xbox 3. Well I hope more new s comes by soon dvdbunnny1 |

DVDbunny I'm facinated with this even though I'm no console head another article. Take note of the phrases: "You'll feel inside the game. When these feelings are transmitted through the controller, you'll feel you right there, in the game. You'll be impressed." He does confirm the video was a fake though.. Interesting read nevertheless. http://www.revogaming.net/html/modules/news/article.php?storyid=39 AND http://www.wired.com/news/games/0,2101,67854-2,00.html?tw=wn_story_page_next1 Cut and paste the whole thing. Especially the bit: Miyamoto: Nintendo is always trying to be on the forefront of control innovations, like the analog stick, rumble or wireless. As soon as these are available, our competitors snatch them up. Because the user interface is going to drive the Revolution software design, that's what's going to make our software stand out. Nobody else is going to be able to do what we do with next-generation game software. So, I can't reveal anything. It's under wraps because it's the big gun. Me now: However, I have read the original patents for which caused speculation about 3d. They seem to be aimed at a new way of keeping the focus of the player on gaming elements whilst playing. I have to say I'don't think this will be 3d but as to the nature of the controller that makes you feel inside the game I can't even guess. Afterall we've had rumble sticks and suits, force feedback joysticks and mice and none have done it for me. Perhaps a sedgway like device which would give you a force to push against would do it..but as the other attempts of force feedback have failed I feel that this is not innovative or a revolution... All I know about it really is it has built in Wi-Fi. http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/nintendo-revolution/index.php I don't think there is going to be that many disappointed fanboys, considering that most of this crap is either not reported in the mainstream websites, or they are discounted as fakes on them. |
