Hi, i've been searching for hours how to show a vrml scene in a 3D-Goggle (Trivisio 3D-AR Goggles connected to Geforce 5600). I'm able to bring JPS FIle in stereo to the HMD and watch 3D Videos with the stereoscopic player. I also did 3D Visualization of VRML-Worlds with the Cortona PLayer and Shutterglasses. Is there no way to get vrml-scenes in 3D-Goggles by using a driver (like forceware)? Please give me hint if it is possible or if nobody has heard about it until now..... Thanxs Simon |

"I also did 3D Visualization of VRML-Worlds with the Cortona PLayer and Shutterglasses." What else do you need ? I expect the sentence above describe what you search for |

To clarify: I want to use a HMD with 2 LCD-Displays (no Shutterglasses) to view 2 stereoscopic images to get 3D impression. Simon |

confusing question here, but you could try Cortona or Bitmanagement's plugin in full screen mode with stereo enabled on an Nvidia card and setereo options in the nvidia set to either interlaced or dual output (depending on wether yr 3d hmd has seperate left right vga input or accepts an interlace 3d signal) Regards Clyde |

Ps. you would have to use OpenGl as the render option in cort or bitmanagement. Only then will full screen mode do the stereo on Nvidia. |

Hi, i have 2 dual analog vga input device (800x600@60Hz each) and 2 possible graphic cards: 1) Geforce 5200: 1 analog out and 1x digital out (with pin converter), Forceware 71.89+stereo driver installed 2) Nvidia Quadro4 550XGL, 77.82 driver installed, no stereo driver ad 1) shutter glasses work fine on setup 1 with cortona player and opengl renderer in fullscreen (ctrl T to toggle mode). but when i want to change the viewing option within the stereo driver-there is only 1 more option: red-green-anaglyph. and that's nothing good for 2 screen displays. So were is the right option? ad 2) in the extended options there are two entries: + stereo (on/off): ON + stereo display (shutter/Monitor interlaced/monitor cloned....): SHUTTER If i choose stereo on and shutterglasses and i view again a full screen scene in cortona - nothing happens - so how do i turn on the stereo mode on quadro graphic card? |

in scenario 1... download the latest Nvidia drivers AND matching stereo drivers (or nearest matching drivers and stereo drivers that you find on nvidia website) then download NVTWEAK heres a good place http://nvtweak.laptopvideo2go.com/ now run NVtweak and enable all the Stereo3d options. That should reveal all the extra hidden options for the GeForce. ...about doing OGL stereo on the Quadro in a window, im not sure, havent ried it out yet on a hmd. Enjoy! Regards Clyde |

OGL stereo on Quadro in window in combination with both dual ouptu and page flipping ouput works perfect. But it is neccesary to use OpenGL stereo capable application - this is not ablut wrapping non-stereoscopic app. |

Hi, clyde, thanks, i've done the download and i'll test them in a minute... M.H., could you give me some examples on OpenGL stereo capable application? And how do i turn on and off stereo on a quadro card? BTW, i didnt't understand your last words. |

Simon: In principle there exist 2 sort of stereoscopic applications: 1) Without stereo support but with Direct3D or OpenGL output. To such application OpenGL stereoscopy can be added by the nVidia game wrappers. Example: All DirectX and OpenGL games 2) With native stereoscopic suport. THis work only uder OpenGL, optionaly in window. The applications controls the cameras and stereo view creation itself. Example: Peter Wimmer Stereoscopic Player in OpenGL mode or sample applications on this link: http://www.gali-3d.com/archive/articles/StereoOpenGL/StereoscopicOpenGLTutorial.php |

M.H.: While I agree with the two methods you have listed, there is a third way: it is perfectly possible to write native stereo DirectX applications - we have several such (proprietary) applications. Admittedly, the native stereo support in DirectX has never been fully implemented, and thus the application has to perform some of the functionality that properly should be in the driver. But this is a relatively small issue. Also admittedly, I'm not aware of any shrink-wrapped applications that work in this way, but there may well be -- it's not really my field. |

Alatar: I am familar with wath you call"third method", but the stability of such solution is so low, that it usualy does not work at all with each new graphic card drivers release. So I do not count this as a method for practical usage. |

Clyde: to make it short: thanks to your suggestions it is now working: using NVTweak i could get the OPTION DUAL VGA OUTPUT with the Geforce Card and that's it: Works great, looks great. Programming an application by myself is going to be a next step... |
