The Z800 `Reviews' thread seems to be getting bogged down with questions towards new owners so I thought I'd start a new thread. My first question is: Despite what the Emagin site says, can the Z800 interpolate a higher resoltion input when not running in Stereo, as I read somewhere. Does the picture look better when doing this if not running stereo mode ? |

If that is it's native res then I would think not. Just like a Projector but projectors will go to a higher res but it will start to lose it's res. I had the i-glasses and when I had the desktop at 1024 the glasses wouldn't show the screen. |

The z800 will ONLY accept 800x600 - it does not "scale" up or down any other resolution. You will get a blank picture |

Thanks for the replies. I wish I could find the posts from the user that said their z800 was happy interpolating a 1024 X 768 input , not in Stereo though. Well this makes sense as Emagin site is pretty clear about that. Disappointing news . I know my X1 800 X 600 projector gives a much better picture for gaming when I input 1024 X 768. |

Hi Mark S, From what i have read on the Z800, it says that 800 x 600 looks like 1024 x 768, when playing games in stereo 3d your brain sort of does an automatic anti aliasing effect, then they say when you actually switch on anti aliasing and anistropic filtering the effect is superb and way better than a good monitor running a game in 1024 x 768. I think i read this on stereovision.net forums or it was on here. |

dvdbunny1, I have a Z800 but I never understood that thing about some sort of auto AA. For me it feels nothing more than 800x600, and I think it´s more because of the blurry picture you can´t really see sharp corners of pixels. People are a bit over entusiastic about the Z800 if you ask me. |

Stereoviewer, then what is your thought on your Z800, you feel it is a waste of money that you spent? Give us alittle of what you've worked on with it, Next week I will have mine and I will do some serious work with it regarding gaming in 3D, on a few differant PC's with differant drivers. I will then have a web site up with the glasses and my Gun and share some thoughts. Well I'll have to wait till next week, till then... Ku |

DvD Bunny , Thanks for the comments..I've heard of the AA effect of stereo too. I guess its just one of those things that you need to try it to see. My feeling is that the thrill of flicker free 3D will outweigh the lack of sharpness. Most people probably don't have fast enough grapghic card to run 3d without a low framerate though. I will have to save for a GF 6600 or better. |
