This is very very good! I could only spot one tiny "fault" at 2:02 where the womands right arm is looking a bit odd, but that is no big deal at all. It's quite a job you have put into this! I will definitly download and watch this film. Hopefully my brand new Samsung PS50C7705XXE (which I hope to get today) will be able to play the side-by-side version in full 3D :-) If you plan to do more conversions, you should put up a paypal-button for donation ;-) |

"This is very very good! I could only spot one tiny "fault" at 2:02 where the womands right arm is looking a bit odd, but that is no big deal at all. I calculated that I have had to convert about 140,000 frames to do this. Fortunately I have developed a few short cuts along the way. With regards availability and payment, I was actually just planning on putting a one-off PayPal price but I will certainly consider your idea of a donation button instead. I'd be a bit concerned that I'd get nothing in return for all my efforts though. I have no idea if people ever do make donations to these buttons. I think I'd be much happier with a one-off fixed price. On that issue, I'd appreciate any feedback as to what you would feel would be a reasonable price to pay to download the complete side by side version, bearing in mind that it represents about 6 months labour with no renumeration in return. I also still have about 2 more months work left by my reckoning too. It would be very easy to release it now but it's only about 60% perfect in my eyes. I want it to be at least 99% perfect, allowing for the odd right arm here and there. Gae |

Hehe! An odd right arm once in a while is no problem. If I were you, I would go for the fixed price. I suggested the donation-button because I thought you would offer the film for free When it comes to price, it's hard to say how much I would be willing to pay for a movie I most likely wouldn't have bought if it was available commercially, if you know what I mean. I think somewhere between $15 and $20 might be a fair price. Geir |

Thanks Goev...I was going to put it at around £10 ($15) originally so that's not far off your suggestions...I thought that was a fair price. Appreciate the feedback. Gae |

Hi Gae, How is the conversion going? Could you also make a side-by-side version in 1280x960? That means doubling the vertical resolution? This would make it possible for me to play it on my Playstation 3 and Samsung 3D TV. The side-by-side format supported by the Samsung TV expects full height but half width for each eye. This is the same as the Sensio 3D-format. If you like, I could pay you in advance and test the movie on my system ;-) Geir |

The reason for this is that I have gone right back to the start to re-do the first half of the movie. I've also boosted the contrast on my depthmaps to obtain the 0-255 ratio of black to white for better 3D depth and I've added 5% more parallax. At parallax 20, the 3D has more depth and looks much closer to true stereoscopic content now. So as you can see, the film is nowhere near ready yet but I'm hoping it will be finished by Christmas. I've done a quick test and yes, I can re-size the film to 1280x960 in virtualdub using direct stream processing...this method means that I don't compress the movie any further. I'll send you a sample at this resolution when I'm closer to completion if you like. Keep checking my blog but it will be another 2-3 months yet I think....the wait will be worth it though because the 3D depth is starting to look really nice.
