Well, my question is quite simple. What would be the most professional solution for affording a promotional show of an stereoscopic short before each movie into conventional cinemas? i mean... we would use conventional screens (white) and it should work in every cinema with no troubles added. (any other solution further than traditional red/green anagliphic one? ) yeah, i know if this would be a simple question everybody would be using this kind of things,... but cmooon... Any help would be apreciated. Thank you in advance. |

If you will use conventonal cinema, you will not use non-depolarizing projection plate. It restricts the solution to CRT projection with active shutterglasses for evrybody. It will be realy non-practical becous of price of active glasses. More practical soultin will be to replace the projection plane by non-depoarizing plane + use polarized projection. I suggest you to study the materials available from Barco WWW for possible combinations ... Be prepared that chepaest profesionla soulution is at least 30 000 $ USD (one enought strong CRT projector with fast phosphors) ... |

oh. thank you for the information. I am not sure i got the thing. You talk about changing the screen? that would be really dificult, cause this promotion is thought to be use in lots of cinemas all over the country. mmmmmm We are thinking about just develping some xtrange promotional short for being used with Chromadepth glasses...... though i know that is not agreat solution at all. Yeah. The costs are not a problem really. The main trouble is to get this stereo promotion into the biggest amount of cinemas posible without changing the infrastructure at all. : Anyway, deep thank for the help. Any other idea, pleaseeeeee post !!!! Thanks to all !!! ;D |

You shuld try to contact the Brightland company. They have developed interesting color conversion proces with is better than anaglyph (Akumira). But it can not beat shutterglasses ... You shuld try to visit some IMAX theaters and have a look what techniques do thay use if money is not a problem ... |

Anaglyph glasses like IMAX (or Akumira improved quality), chromadepth and Pulfrich effect ... I think there're no other possible solutions. |

If you want to use an ordinary projection screen, there is another solution: Infitec Viewing System of TAN (www.tan.de). Quality is better than with polarized glasses. The only problem is that the glasses are quite expensive. |

We have tested Infitec System with 3D Video; while it has some really big advantages, the picture quality is not better than with polarized glasses. Michael Seidel |
