www.neurok.com web site announces a new multi-user autostereo display. The device should be available through www.treedy.com. did anybody out there ever see a working sample? |

Yes, I have seen a working sample recently in Washington DC at an expo. It was OK, the 3D effect wasn't as "in your face" as one would expect, and its expected to sell for $5,000 - which is very pricey. They say they are working on improving the quailty of 3D... and are about 1 year away from having it on stores shelves. |

Saw it at SIGGRAPH 2001. Stereo3D depth was limited to about 1/8" perceptual depth (almost no 3D effect whatsoever). Blurry image. Not yet useful. They also claimed to be able to take ANY image and automatically convert it to true 3D using neural nets. Whatever they are doing/using does not currently work. Don't throw out your shutterglasses/polarizers just yet. :-) |
