hey all you homebrewers that think you can beat some commercial companies, go ahead and try this one, made for LCD projectors, but what the hell, it might work. Anyone up for the challenge? |

These developments in microdisplays are great but probably several years from resulting in an affordable PC based HMD device. I'd like to have a rig for my flight simming before I go into the nursing home. Here's my home-brew approach: http://homepages.about.com/johncraigrochester/vrvision/ BTW: I could really use help with the optics design if anyone is interested. Craig |

FYI, Microdisplay Corp., according to some respectable sources has stopped production and may be going out of business unless they get some new funding. Inviso has also closed its doors and Zight, which supplies the new 800x600 display for the new SVGA i-glasses, is restructuring. No further details on what that may mean. Steve |

Steve: Argh. Sounds like bad news. Will it influence launching of your new HMD models ? |

Nope. We are not using any of those displays. So we are in good shape. But it doesn't really help anyone in the industry if all of the display companies start having problems. Steve |
