When I boot my pc, even in the DOS screens or the loading screen for the OS, the left/right shutters go on/off randomly. When finally booted in windows, they keep doing this. So because they do this even in DOS and while loading the OS, I can't imagine it being the software. Could it be that my glasses are broken? Or that the batteries are (almost) out? Can't seem to think what could be the problem. It could also be a compatibility problem with my monitor and/or motherboard because these both are changed since I last used them (about 6 months ago). |

The glasses will flicker during DOS boot up as the system will randomly toggle the DDC lines which drive the glasses, so this is NOT a good indication of H/W problems. More likely a monitor compatibility issue. - Cheers |

or do I need to remove the pins from the monitor cable itself? |

Try GTF or DMT in the GeForce Analog Monitor Device Adjustment. |

'...removed those pins from the cable that came with the glasses..' - Ouch !!! If you removed the pins from the plug that plugs into the PC, I'm afraid you won't get any flicker at all anymore. Note that pin 12 is used to control the glasses from the PC, so intrrupting pin 12 between PC and glasses is a very bad idea. To resolve DDC issues with the monitor, pin 12 should be interrupted between Revelator dongle and monitor; best by using an old Voodoo2 loop cable with or some cheap VGA extension cable with the pin removed. |

Order a new Elsa Revelator, they sell it online for €20 wire and €30 wireless. |

Check out the the hombrew project in the News for December 15, 2001. If you're technically inclined - it basically gives the circuit for driving the relevator wireless. I built it for a set of old eyescream glasses that I have and it works well - though the oscillator part of the circuit may require some playing with to get the correct carrier frequency. |
