Hi. I'm considering purchasing a NuView camera adapter to create live-action 3D movies and home videos. I was wondering, however, if there is a program to create field sequential CGI or at least animated text in 3D? Thanks Dann |

You can do it by creating two CG animations (one for each eye) using a 3D editor (like Blender) an then mix them with Stereo Video Maker. Both software are free and the first is open source. Bye Andrea |

Wow! I just checked out the site and downloaded a copy! Am I to understand that this is a free, open source 3D animation creator?! That's amazing! Thanks for the advice. I never would have found this otherwise! Dann |

If you're just needing to do 3D text/simple graphics/logos, you should check out BluffTitler. You can set it up to export in stereo3d and/or with alpha channel (transparency). That way, it can be overlayed on other video (stereo3d or not). I've been in contact with the author(s) of the software and they expect continuing to strongly support stereo3d options. ...and it doesn't have anywhere near as much of a learning curve as Blender (great program that it is)... Hey Scott, Thanks for the help! I checked out the homepage for "BluffTitler" and it looks like exactly what I'm looking for. I've already started playing around with "Blender" and it looks like an amazing program especially for being free and open source. It seems to me also, that I could set up a "virtual camera", render the animation, and then set up the same "camera" 3 inches away, render it and end up with a "left eye view" and a "right eye view." It almost seems like with the nuview adapter, Blender and Blufftitler, I could be making some sweet 3D movies! Thanks for all the help guys! It's very much appreciated! Dann |

Anything existing in PCIex will be way sufficient (Message edited by decoril on July 07, 2007) |
