I just recently upgraded my helmet cam equipment, so I am now recording to 1280 x 720 .mov files compressed in h264. I was previously only able to get to 640 x 480 mpeg4, and had downloaded 3D Combine, but never really got anywhere with it do to lack of interest and disatisfaction with that resolution. I'm now really quite excited by the detail of my footage and want to pickup where I left off. However I've not worked with .mov files or h264 or anything higher than D1 resolution before. What I need to know is, what software am I going to need that is capable of working with these files, either editing or transcoding? So far I've found them cumbersome to work with, even playing them seems to be a challenge to most of my media players. I would like to be able to combine views for both anaglyph and shutterglass viewing. 3D Combine seems to have very little technical information included and I'm wondering if it is even capable of handling 720p. I've succesfully converted some to .avi, as I'm led to believe there aren't any options for working with .mov files in 3D, but haven't got the bugs worked out of the audio yet. I guess what I'm asking is : A. What software is capable? B. What is the proper sequence of steps when starting with this file type? Any suggestions appreciated. |
