My brain has just Googled to mush. I wanted to find a 'cheap' user friendly 'stereo pair' (or close) to lenticular print software package that can handle reasonable size prints and that is reasonably automatic or at least user friendly. I found 'free' demos, and some cheaper programs for 4"x6" prints, and at around $100 US, you can do 5"x7" or so. You want 11"x14"? That will be around $250 US. That's more than my large format printer cost! I still have to pay for the lenticular sheets! I am not doing this for a busness; I just want to print a few pictures. It's cheaper to buy a Fuji W3 and send Fuji the files! Can anyone recommend a program or two? | ||

Watch out at Fuji 3D print services. I sent them a few stereo pictures taken with my Canon 450D and converted in MPO by StereoPhotoMaker. The result is nice on my FUJI V1 viewer, and with nvidia's 3D vision. But Fuji's print is very crap. Why ? The don't use 2 pictures for 'stereo' printing, but a lot more, allowing more viewing angles. I dond't know how many. With more than 2 pictures, this give you more chances to have the left eye having a 'more left view' pictures than the right eye. Thus, they have to 'generate' extra pictures and there is the problem. | ||

That's pretty normal for these programs. Other than cameras like the old Nimslo (sp?) which had 4 lenses, you have to calculate the other views. That's why these programs cost so much, or so they say. There's also Adobe Photoshop, CS4 and CS5 that can print lenticular. I have Photoshop Elements which CANNOT. I don't know whether they can convert from 2 view to n-view before printing. Does anyone here know? They are expensive, but at least that's a general purpose program. | ||

I bought this, but the software needs 1 picture and 1 depth field. And they don't want to exchange it with the one take takes stereo pictures  So its bullshit ! | ||

There are many ways to convert a stereo pair for lenticular printing. Check out http://www.triaxes.com/. Or you can try http://start3d.com. To get a good lenticular print one pair is not enough although in theory that is suffice. A good lenticular software should be able to create the intermediate frames from a stereo pair. The more the intermediate frames the smoother the final result. If you are computer programmer and are interested in writing an open source lenticular printing software then please contact us. We can provide all the algorithmic information. You can also study some lenticular printing tutorials on our site. Sorry to be so late to the party but I've written quite a bit of software to generate depth maps from stereo pairs and to generate intermediate views between the left and right image. All that software is free.
