I'm new to the idea of 3D steroscopic imagining. I read the article at http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/04/10/wall_sized_3d_displays/

I was wondering? If you run a console like a PS3 through a video capture card and then output it via the GPU could the nvidia drivers make the image steroscopic?

Capturing the video output of a PS3 you get a normal 2D video with no info about the third dimension; in other words, there are only the images for one eye. NVidia GPU cannot do anything more than showing you the same video.

To show stereoscopic images, NVidia drivers process the calls to OpenGL or Direct3D functions in which they can find a complete description of the 3D environment. Only with those info it's possible to calculate the two images (one for each eye) of the stereoscopic view.

Bye
