Hi, guys! Got recently this marvel - VFX1. Wanna to play with it a little from a programming side. Looking into VFX1 SDK examples I did found reference to "VFX1 HEADGEAR Programmers Reference Manual". Is anyone have it, preferably in digital form? |

Unfortunately there was only a printed developers manual which i don't have. However - i doubt it contains much more info then the readme, win95 doc file and the examples (all contained in the SDK). Maybe just ask if you have specific questions? I doubt you will get a copy of the printed developers manual - I've never seen a scanned copy and the "Developer kit" (Headgear, SDK and printed developers manual) was probably only sold a handfull of times. It is very unlikely you will ever see one, but i think you might be disappointed if you get it anyways. |

It is a pity. Sure, with enough time deposition, SDK examples are sufficient to make something useful. But for example SenseGetConfiguration, SenseSetConfiguration functions (from examples) operating with "config packets". And they are mainly dark spots. Some described in header file, some not. Which can be changed and passed to SenseSetConfiguration? Guessing, guessing, guessing... P.S. Your site file section is a something! |

With the config packets as i see it you can set/get FOV, magnification, refresh rate, video mode, etc. the VFX1.h from the DOS package is quite well commented, even revelaing the measurements. I suggest you look through the VFX1.h as it reveals all the parameters a config package can contain. If you don't get what a value means the best is to try it out, just send a custom config package and see how it changes the helmets display. I am sorry i can not be of more help, but C is really not my favorite language. |
