I've successfully shown a stereo image using NVIDIA instructions at the document "The In and Out: Making Games Play Right with Stereoscopic 3D Technologies".
http://developer.download.nvidia.com/presentations/2009/GDC/GDC09-3DVision-The_In_and_Out.pdf

However I encountered some problems.
1. The stereo mode is activated only when the screen size and the backbuffer are in some specific resolutions. For example, it works great when using 1024x768 or 512x384 (but it is not right for any power of two). Is there a way to fit the size to any size? If not, how can I determine which resolutions are acceptable?

2. I cannot shut down that stereo mode. Even restarting the whole computer doesn't work - the emitter green light still bright as a stereo mode is activated. It cause my display to get crazy in some situations. Since the first time I ran my application I couldn't find a way to stop that behavior except uninstalling all NVIDIA drivers and reinstalling.

3. Related to the previous problem: Since the first time I ran my application Visual Studio's (2010) display got crazy. It seems that it tries to render its window in stereo mode - part of the document are shown only in gray. Turning on another stereo application shows that some Visual Studio windows are rendered only for one eye. Disconnecting the emitter forced NVIDIA driver to switch to red-blue stereo mode and then those windows appeared in red or blue. Although I know Visual Studio 2010 is written in WPF which is rendered above DirectX 9, it does not happen to other DirectX9 or WPF apps.

4. When I'm trying to connect two displays (ViewSonic, 1680x1050) and show the stereo on one of them it seems that the adapter doesn't supply enough performance and the stereo seems broken. I knew that problem on Windows XP when using two 1920x1080 (Acer) screens and resolved it by replacing my old Quadro FX3500 adapter to 3800 one, but on XP I didn't have such problem with 1680x1050.
I guess Windows 7 rendering itself takes some performance from the adapter (does it make sense?), but is there a way to connect two displays and show stereo on Windows 7?

I'm using: Quadro FX3800, Windows 7, .NET 4, DirectX9, ViewSonic 1680x1050. I've tried all combinations of 3DVision kit/red-blue, and WinForms/WPF.

Thanks
