It seems so few people know the excellent Virtual reality Arcade machines from Virtuality. or if they do they usually only know one or two games. Well tospread the knowledge i have uploaded some Videos to my YOutube account, so you can look how these great games look like. =) http://www.youtube.com/user/fronzel99#grid/uploads |

Very interesting! Thank you for uploading! Seems graphics is not among his strong points. Probably gameplay and immersion are. SU3000 file section, in particular ETS, is very, very interesting too! Seems these Virtuality VR systems uses Ascension Spacepad for tracking purposes. And it is very important to me. Do You own any of these VR systems? |

P.S. Thank you again for file section updates. But seems Tools/vrRend386.zip was broke while uploading. P.P.S. If you interesting in Unity Reality Gear tracker software (judging by uploading of Tools/URGear.zip) there is one site on the net http://gearhelp.narod.ru/drivers.html with more drivers and some utilities for it. |

Thanks for the link. I will try to add them to the site soon, but i still need to make a nice page for the i-glasses. I also want to add more tips about what games i played and how and how to watch Stereo Video in windows. I also still want to program a lil switcher utility to switch XP resolution to 640x480 and back on the fly, so use of cybermaxx, VFX-1 and i-Glasses works fine in XP. But currently i lack the time... =/ I have an SU-3000 at home. Well back in the days the SU-3000 with Zero Hour looked quite cool. Unfortunately Zero Hour and the Shooting titles were the only ones exclusive to the SU3000. The 486-based 2000 and Amiga-3000 based 1000 series titles look a bit outdated today though. Still they are fun to play and the stereoscopics look great even on the 1000 series. Flying Aces ftw! ^__^ |

Oh man, you cool! Something like SU3000 at home is a dream I'm want to accomplish. By accident I have Ascension SpacePad ISA board with no anything accompanying. I found manual and C programming examples at ftp://ftp.ascension-tech.com/PRODUCTS/SPACEPAD . But to make it working I need to build antenna interface board and functional analog of Space Joystick. Can you make close-up photos of both sides of antenna interface (it should be relatively simple to build I think) and Space Joystick electrical boards? I will very appreciate it. Besides it will be very interesting to look on other SU3000 computer boards too. I have little experience in hardware/software reverse engineering so building missing SpacePad components seems as completely possible task for me. Furthermore, to be honest, I'm dream about modifying one of Quake ports to make look and gun control independent and to add SpacePad tracker support. One SpacePad board allow to track up to 4 sensors at the same time, so possibilities are rich. However it's relatively hard and time consuming task, and as usual time is a biggest problem. So it's a dream for a while. As for SU3000, Space Joystick is definitely SpacePad based, head tracker very possible is SpacePad based too. Gun seems to be interfaced via serial port so to reverse engineer it's protocol should not be hard. HMD is in remainder, I think it is rebranded model of one of the HMDs available on market, so SDK should be available, or it can be replaced with other HMD. And with all these peripherals programming APIs available, SU3000 software support can be extended. Your web site update plans are great. Experience is a most valuable matter and should be shared around. (Message edited by CyberAddict on October 13, 2009) |

I've got a SpacePad manual, including antenna construction details, if anyone is interested. Also have plenty of SpacePad ISA boards and antenna breakout boards. |

Sure, i am very interested in! Do you mean you have installation and operating manual?. If so i have one [ftp://ftp.ascension-tech.com/MANUALS/Spacepad_Manual-RevA.pdf]. What i am really need is something like repair/service manual with breakout and sensor board schematics. I would be very grateful for breakout board close-up photos (both sides) however to try to replicate it. Do you mind to sell those boards? Depending on price i can consider buying some. |

Thank you very much! It could be replicated with easy! Last thing: can you readout those red capacitors capacitance value and write them here? |

3 caps are 0.68 uf. Don't know the voltage, but I'd assume you'd be safe with 50V or more. The blue resistor is 0.47 ohms at 3 watts. Probably some sort of current limiter against short circuits. |

The SU3000 uses a Polhemus ISA tracking card, a Transmitter/Transmitter Frequency module and 2 receivers. I dont know if Ascension just rebrands polhemus stuff, but being a noob i would have assumed it's a different product. But to be honest - no idea. But just took a look at specepad, seems like the ideal device, i hope you have a complete set of transmitter, sensor(s) and ISA control card, because then with some neat HMD you could for sure build a kickass VR machine out of it. I'd ask Ascension, the sensors are probably also sold seperately. Maybe they aren't too expensive. |

Correct...the Ascension SpacePad and Polhemus InsideTrak are different cards, based on different technologies. The InsideTrak transmitter is similar to a FastTrak or IsoTrak magnetic cube about 4"x4"x4". The SpacePad transmitter is 3 loops of wire, usually buried in the floor of the pod. The loops are arranged in a triad totaling about 36" in diameter, although the SpacePad will support much larger transmitter loops, covering bigger tracking areas, but at the expense of some precision. SpacePad and InsideTrak receivers look quite similar and have a similar round DIN connector on the card, but of course they are not interchangeable. Both devices will exhibit distorted dimensional and rotational measurements in the presence of ferrous materials. Stainless steel, being non-ferrous, is one solution I've used. |

Thanks for clearance. Probably ETS supports several types of tracking devices. I was misguided by "SpacePad" character strings in ETS.exe binary. |
