I am completly dissapointed with my 3d Projection setup. I have spent a few thousand dollars and to no avail. No matter what I try I can not get the left/right images to black out using the polarizing filters and glasses from Berezin, I can get the images to fade down but not go anywhere near dark. Any of you experts out there know what my problem is? I have done a lot of research on the web and I know the first thing you guys are going to say is the Da lite screen sucks, but I have read about several college's using the exact same screens for their Geowalls with great success so they must work . Anyone have any idea's on what my problem might be? The filters? the projector? or the screen? Equipment used 2 NEC Lt180 DLP Projectors 100" Da-Lite Silver Screen polarizer filters and glasses from Berezin stereo photography. Chief projector stacker Thanks David |

I can only agree with others - Da-Lite screens are not the best. Use Stewart or Silver Fabric one ... Screen material is the most important component for passive projection according ghosting. But generaly, even with the best screen and filters, you will have always aprox. 1% ghosting with passive system. So if you want to have 0.2 % or better ghosting, 3D DLP projectror is the solution. |

I am not a pro this is just a personal setup for home use, I am sure i can live with some ghosting. Right now I am getting nothing but ghosts, I am unable to isolate the left or right video streams at all. I absolutly refuse to pay $4000 for a 600 X 800 projector no matter if it does have a 120hz refresh rate. If DepthQ decides to update thier model to an XGA resolution one I might consider owning one but until then no way, and $20,000 for a Christie is way more than I am willing to spend to watch Alien Adventure or any of the other "B" movies that are available in 3-D. As it stands I do have a nice XGA resolution projector well 2 actually and I only spent $1600 for the pair brand new. $4000 for a 600 X 800 I am laughing so hard now i'm gonna pee myself. I may check out the Silver fabric or Stewart but I want to make sure that it is in fact my screen and not my filters that are causing the problem . Anyone out there using Berezin's filters with sucess or have any comments on them ? If I hear that Berezin's filters are good from a couple of folks I will just assume it is the screen and take the plunge on a new one but until then I am not sure what route to take. |

Say David, Sorry about the problems with your setup. However, it seems to me that you have almost every- thing you need for a TERRIFIC active stereo system. I've got 2 XGA DLP projectors in super widescreen panoramic setup in stereo: For more info checkout http://3DFlightSim.com

I have too 2 PJ DLP (2x Benq PB 6240) setup and this is totally amazing. Is possible of use only 1 projector with e-dimesional cheap glasses, no special screen is needed and with stereoscopic player from P.Wimmer (www.3dtv.at) is possible of wiewing of 3D DVD (I have 5 movies). With 2PJ and dual head2Go adapter it is possible realising of 2PJ 2048x768 setup. For Home use active projection is cheap and simple, of course. See threads in 3D projection section of this discusion board. |

Hi Hornet! You have great photographs of your setup here at http://www.stereo3d.com/cgi-bin/discus/show.cgi?tpc=3177&post=22969#POST22969 Could you post some more information about your system? What video card do you use? And which video drivers? Since you are using the E-D activiator I wonder if you are using an ATI video card. Thanks in advance. |

I am using an Nvidea Quatro4 900 XGL Video card and the 91.31 Forceware and Detonator Drivers. I have tried an active setup as well using Peter Wimmer's Stereoscopic player software but I am getting the error posted at the bottom of the message. I am able to use the E3D software and windows media player to watch active stereo movies but can't get Stereoscopic player to work properly. It's kind of funny that Windows Media Player works great but software specifically designed to play 3-D movies doesn't I have emailed Peter Wimmer but haven't got a response yet, it's too bad because I am using the retail version so I thought I would be getting customer support. I have had an issue with the software before and he was very quick to email me back, maybe Peter is on vacation or something. David error Error: Stereoscopic Player was not able to play this DVD!
