I know that field-sequential 3D systems will not will not work with HDTV, plasma, projection or LCD based television sets. And CRT sets normally don't get much bigger than 40", am I right? So what if a person invested in a fresnel lense based projection set-up, a do-it-yourself affair that magnifies the image from a CRT (cathode ray tube)television set by way of a fresnel lense which then projects the image onto a wall, ceiling or movie screen? Would the field-sequential system still function properly? I mean the images are still coming from a cathode ray source, so in theory, it seems like it would work. I've always heard that the bigger the image, the better the 3D effect. BUt we all know field-sequential requires a CRT-based signal to function poperly. So why wouldn't a frsenl lense projection from a CRT set be the ideal solution? Here's some info I've managed to dig up regarding CRT-based fresnel lense projection: ------------------------------------------------- "Consumer Report" styled general info on D-I-Y style big screen projection: http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/DIY-projection-tv.html "Consumer Report" type info on how to go about constructing the projection set-up and what the eBay folks negelct to mention, the "catches": http://www.practical-home-theater-guide.com/build-a-projection-tv.html online "d-i-y TV projection" info--pdf, zip files, etc: http://www.diyprojectiontv.com/ chat group: http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/DIYProjectionTV/ website dedicated to d-i-y fresnel lense projection: http://www.diytvprojection.co.uk/ "A truly successful cinematic accomplishment inevitably results in the absolute compulsion of the viewer to discuss the film in question with one or more others for the duration of at least a good fifteen minutes, subsequent to initial screening". |
