Hi you all. I guess this has been covered but I have to ask anyway. Is there a possibility to run 2Proj stereo(3D) with a nvidia card(7950gt) or do I need Matrox card. What do you say Hornet? And Hornet BTW, how much did you new set up cost when you went from one proj to two. Excluded the price of the new projector?. |

Hi Jesper, You walk in my steps :-), You need only the Matrox DualHead2Go adapter (cca 130-160 USD) see here: http://www.matrox.com/graphics/en/gxm/products/dh2go/home.php See please here: http://www.3dflightsim.com/Dual_Projector_tests.htm Enjoy. PS:Condor in this setup is amazing (with Trackir) |

Hi "You walk in my steps :-)" Yeah, my not follow the wise ones :-) So it's impossible to use both outputs on my card to recieve 3D. Is this when they are talking about that the card needs to be genlocked or something. How about the refresh rates? I guess it's up to the card. Any idea how high one can go in resolution. Or how about this: Can we use two pj to get one picture but get 170hz (85+85). Just having them overlaying each other rather than next to each other. Just a thought. And finally, how would you rate a single 3d setup vs a double. Is it worth it? |

BTW What do you think about this setup. Do you think it will be a hit or a failure? |

Hi 1. refresh: the only possible refresh is 85 Hz (Dualhead had only 60 and 85 hz compatibility) in 2x1024x768=2048x768 resolution = 2xBenq XGA projectors. For higher resolution is the refresh only 60Hz. 2. This is only possibility to 2 projector 3D stereo. SLI or genlock are no useable (drivers and system permanent problem). 3. Yes I think the 2 projector systen is worth the price, for my this setup is no cheap, I happy with this setup, with trackir this is bombatic. 4. This 90 gr. setup is possible, the main problem is the little area for visitors, the distance picture to visitor is longer, the main problem is the picture deformation and shade of visitor on picture. have used 4x1,6m picture, the minimum is cca 2,5-3m width (becose the shades are bigger in little picture). 5. 2PJ high refresh 3d stereo picture is possible in 1024x768 only with passive setup (polarising filters and non depolarising screen, polarised glasses, this is expensive - screen and filters. 2x85 hz is flickerless. Only resolution is as 1PJ active projection. |

Ok Well my setup or rather the one I drew little hastly don't have to be 90 degrees could be more or less depends how you look at it. The PJ would be mounted in the ceeling therefore there will be no shadows. The idea is ofcourse to have almost a 180 degrees FOV. In my country(Sweden) it seams that the PB6240 are discontinued :-( Don't know how to get it even if I want to, unless I order it from abroad. What do you feel is the biggest gain from a double setup. Higher resolution or a wider FOV? |

Yes, greather FOV and ceelingmounting is better, only more complicated. The main gain in 2 PJ setup is more better FOV (100% better horisontal FOV)and these FOV is augmented with Trackir (4PRO) use (are no needed too big head excursions). After my testing of my setup I use this, for my this is In this time optimal, the second problem is distorsion of picture in 90 gr setup (in Condor) in FS this can by adjusted with FOV. For my was problematic the PB 6240 purchase in august 06, the problem was resolved with exchange of older (80 hours) 6240 from my friend to new MP 720p. The 720p is too good, only the picture size is cca 15% smaller from the same distance. It is possible 6240 searching on e-bay. This setup is from my sight optimal for flightsims in 3D stereo. Theoretically it is possible use of 3PJ and Triplehead2Go (after new software 3x1024x768 85Hz) only FPS were dropped, and this is only for FS 2004 |

Not theoretically but practically it is possible use of 3 PJ - i'm using for this videocard Matrox Parhelia (not TripleHead2Go module) and 3 BenQ 6210 and "selfmade" "movies" in resolution 3072x768. FREE YOUR MIND!!! |
