Hello, I was looking for technical informations or guide how to correctly prepare 3D video material for Dolby 3D Digital Cinema system. How to prepare left and right eye, what software make it easier to do, how and where test if 3d material we have will be correctly displayed in the Dolby 3D Digital Cinema, file formats...etc I think this kind of guide would be very useful. Is there anyone who can do that ? |

Dolby 3D is basically a "6 color" anaglyph. Each eye just gets a 3 color set which make a good white representation, one eye gets a small additional shift of each color. You could think of it as RGB for one eye and R+epsilon, G+epsilon, and B+epsilon for the other. Since each eye is getting essentially full color, you don't have to worry about doing the shift, the filters will do that. You just have to make sure that each eye has a good independent full-color image. It is conceivable that one could have a very pure light source in a scene (say, a bright LED) that one eye will not pick up, but not the other due to the filtering. The filters are not really that narrow banded, so it isn't that likely. That would have to be fixed in post production. I don't think there are any 'extra' tools to do that. |

Thank you Larry. Ok, lets say I have video material recorded by stereoscopic camera. To do any effect to the scene first of all I should setup exactly same camera setup in the 3ds max ? am I correct ? When effect is done. What next to prepare correctly dolby digital material ? Thank you in advance. |
