Hi, Can anyone help in choosing LCD / DLP Projectors for DUAL Projection which are brand new available currently in the market? The Old Projectors are hard to find now. I have heard that Some new LCD / DLP Projections do not support Polarization filters as they are internally polarized!!! Thanks in advance. | ||

No DLP's are internally polarized. ALL LCD's are at least slightly internally polarized. If you are talking circular polarizaion (Real glasses) than you have to at least think about this. The problem is the 3 colors are polarized somewhat differently than one another. In fact, that's how one system, StereoBright works. I went the cheap route. Since I already had two Proxima DP9270 LCD's (2500 lumens, XGA native) for our theater, I used them. I found that my commercial 3" right and left circular polarizers could be set up correctly with no net color shift, but fully extinguishing the other projector. If you get the angle wrong, you WILL get a significant color bias for that image. You have to work this out when you allign the system. What seemed to work best was a simple GRAY NTSC test screen. Any color shift and you have it wrong. Any disagreement on the patterns and you aren't alligned. On my big 25' wid screen, it took perhaps a half hour total, but everyone insisted that it was pretty close to perfect. I could see a bit of color shift on the edges. It can be made to work. | ||

Hi, I wish to do now Linear Projection and I wish to use the new LCD / DLP / LED Projectors that are available in the market. Nowadays the Sony ES7, EX7, Benq 515 are available, are they compatible for Linear Projection and do give image with minimum hotspot?. Has anyone tried the new LED Projectors to Polarize projection? | ||

I think all DLP s from benq are good. Important is minimal 2500 ANSI output for passive system. Second good think is the vertical lensshift, and possibility of low vertical distance between the projectors (no thick PJ). But too without lensshift it works, but the adjustment is more complicated. | ||

Apart from Choosing minimum 2500 ANSI what other technical features should be looked at before buying the new available DLP Projectors? Would Benq MP515 be good for Polarize 3d projector? Is LED Projector good for Passive Polarized projetion? | ||

I know of NO DLP Projcetor that would have a problem with ANY polarization; unlike LCD's they are not internally polarized at all. The only problem you have is that any polarizer reduced light output by 50% or more. You have two projectors for 3D, so you get back to the same level. | ||

Thanks for the information. Here Refurbished NEC LT265 DLP Projector is ready available for $378. Is this a good projector for 3D Polarize projection for 100 people? What should be the screen size for 50 people and 100 people seater? | ||

My screen is 25' wide; I seat 100+ for 3D. 60 to 80 is much easier. A 20' screen would probably work almost as well. The silvered screens for polarized 3D are EXPENSIVE; they cost more than 2 projectors. My projection booth is 1 floor above the seating. My distance to screen is about 55'. With a long throw lens I can handle many more people, but these lenses are expensive and I only have 1 which I use for the outdoor (2D) theater. |
