OK Since I couldn't find any recent posts (at least satisfactory) about experiences with using the new LCD-compatible Edimensional glasses with newer, fast CRTs, such as the ViewSonic VX922, I'm going to ask anyone that has such a setup to share their experience.

What is the effect? Do the LCD glasses work correctly in page-flipping mode or do they only work in line-blanking mode for LCDs?

I'm considering replacing a CRT w/ old edimensional shutterglasses with an LCD monitor and new edimensional LCD compatible glasses. Is this viable? Will I be disappointed? Any info?

Thanks

I have tested the eDimensional LCD compatible glasses to watch 3d DVDs using the "Software page flipping " mode of the latest release of
P.Wimmer "Stereoscopic Player " on my Phillips LCD monitor up to 75 Hz which is the maximum refresh date of this unit with no problem .
I have not used it with any game (not my cup of tea )

Georges:

What about flicker? With a maximum LCD refresh rate of 75 Hz, isn't flicker obviously visible? Many viewers consider that unacceptable.

Charles,
Not everybody perceives flicker the same way .
On my LCD screen at 75 Hz ,I almost not see it except on very briht and uniform scenes .The most disturbing thing is not the picture flicker but the room flicker if you do not keep the room rather dark .

georges--
I have edimensional glasses and the stereoscopic player, but cannot figure out how to configure things. can you explain what you do, incl what decoder you use? the best i can do is run things from the source instead of sterescopic, which gives ok background 3d but terrible 3d for closer objects.

Andy,
Have you got the version of the edimensional glasses compatible with LCD screens ?
In this case ,the way I watch 3d DVDs is :
-in the "setting"menu of the glasses, select LCD
-in the glasses "controler menu"select 3D display on,then exit
In the Syereoscopic player, select "software page flipping "
As decoder,Iuse indifferently MPEG ,Cyberlink or Nvidia.
CAVEAT :I have currently a problem with Stereoscopic Player when I try to go full screen:the screen gets black .I am trying to resolve it wirh P. Wimmer's help
Georges
