I have an emagin arriving tomarrow but I only have an AGP motherboard and an x800xt All In Wonder video card. I'm trying to find a fast video card that will work in stereoscopic. |

If you don't want to spend alot of money a nvidia 6800GS might be a good buy, it cost about $200.00 dollars or less , and comes in AGP. |

I don't want to step down from the performance or capability of my x800xt AIW that I overclock to 520/560 like the Platinum. And I'd rather not have to get a new motherboard and deal with the necessary reinstalling of my OS partitions. |

The card I linked to is an AGP card, which is what I thought you said you were useing ? It would be a little step down in Frames per second in games but I don't think much. What you would be getting is a big step up in how easy it would be to use 3D with the Nvidia 3D drivers. I just don't think ATI supports 3D right now. So the Nvidia card would be a good match with your new Z800 if you plan on using 3D with it. |

you don't need to reinstall your OS when you get a new motherboard (unless you've got a raid, although even then..). as for keeping all your capability... i don't think nvidia makes cards with tuners. you could get a motherboard with both agp and pcie and use both cards. how much are you willing to blow, anyway? i would recommend finding a crappy old nvidia card first before spending a lot of money on something you haven't even experienced yet. |

oh, er, you've already got the z800. nvm about the old crappy card. the dual agp/pcie idea sounds even better since you can have one plugged to your monitor, one to your hmd. remember that you'll be playing at 800x600, so you're not exactly going to need the greatest hardware. another reason to hang on to your ati for your monitor is that it's got temporal aa. too bad you need atitool to enable it properly, but a zero-cost tripling of antialiasing is hard to beat. plus make sure to enable adaptive aa, too (registry edit). |

I didn't think about the AIW part of your ATI Card. You could get the Nvidia card and sell the ATI AIW card and just buy a PCI bus TV tuner & Video capture card to replace the ATI AIW card. |
