Hi I'm interested in the creation of stereoscopic videos to view in a PC. I've been doing some research and I decided to buy the E-Dimensional wireless 3D glasses, but I can't make them work. First, I installed the drivers included in the CD, because my computer doesn´t have a good graphics card (SiS 661 FX). The installation was OK. When I pressed the button in the glasses (making sure that there aren't any objetcs between the emitter and the glasses), one lens darkened, but nothing more happened. Then I installed the E-D Activator, which is a software to test the hardware. When I activated the software my monitor appeared darker (that's how it should be) and I pressed the ON button on the glasses, at first they started to flicker slowly, but after a few seconds they stopped and since then they didn´t flicker nor darkened any more. I thought that the problem could be in the batteries, so I replaced them, but nothing changed. After that, I was able to connect the glasses to other PC that has an Nvidia Quadro card. I installed the nvidia stereo driver and activate the glasses with the software, but the glasses didn't do anything. Has something similar happened to any of you? Could you give me some tips? I have downloaded some videos in above and below format. I think that to view them in 3D I only have to open them in the StereoMovie Maker and choose "play both movies with 3D shutter glasses". Then, if I put my glasses on, they would flicker and I should see the movie in 3D without activate them with their software. Is that correct? If it is, an interlaced video played in Windows Media or any other player should also allow me to use the glasses and see in 3D? I've also tested the Stereoscopic Player but I have the same problem: I can't see anything in 3D. Thank you in advance | ||

First off, shutter glasses don't work with LCD monitors, only CRTs or certain DLP projectors. You will also need an Nvidia graphics cards (at least if you want to play games in 3d). 3D video is not easy to get working unless you know how to tweak the settings. You are better off testing with the 'Stereo JPEG' viewer included with the Nvidia stereo drivers. You want to set them to 'page-flipped'. You can also use the nvidia stereo utility to make sure the glasses work. Sounds to me like you got a broken pair. My first pair of 3d glasses came broken (the old another-i's) with a similar problem. Only on eye would flicker randomly, or they would just be darkened out. I would suggest calling the place you bought them and tell them to send you another pair. // cybereality |
