Thats not a bad design, although I'm sure I have seen that setup before. Its a bit on the pricey side, especially with the iz3d 22" monitor going for only $1000 USD. But its still pretty cool anyway. |

Yes thanks for your comment, i only like to add that you should not compare apples with bananas. Because the iz3D has so much visual problems my display not has. 1. terrible ghosting with iz3d; 2. color problems in some parts - brown coloring effects. Thats all not in half mirror displays. Thats why it cost more ( two displays necc.) but much better visual quality. In my experience the iz3d is useless. |

Never trash the competition in public record....you can talk up your own, or compare it to another, but don't use terms like useless. Just a word from the wise. |

Also, do you have a propietary 3D drivers that really works like them? anthing other than that might be more useless than nothing in so many games with nvidia disastrous 3d drivers. |

Decoril, I wouldn't lambaste Nvidia so much, at least they are supporting 3d natively on their cards. I think the real issue is that developers are not testing for stereo 3d. Many game devs use cheap graphic tricks (aka hacks) to gain performance. Things like rendering the background as a separate pass and super-imposing the characters. This looks convincing in 2D, in 3D is sucks. The most common issue is wonky GUI/HUD elements, which can be easily fixed if coded correctly. The 2d elements need to be rendered directly to the screen buffer as the last pass. But many devs simply render a 3d screen-aligned quad. This has some benefits, but it looks like crap if it isn't at the correct depth. Again, if the devs were up on stereo 3d, they could tweak their games for 3d in a day. This is in no way the fault of nvidia. Its mainly just a lack of any mainstream recognition that would get developers to support stereo compatibility. That said, I think nvidia could put some more work into supporting the stereo3d on the newest drivers, but at least they are doing more than ATI. |

Of course; but what do you think about letting the devs make their magic, including any 2D post proccess and anything they want or need and: To have a well done 3D driver, dont matter who does it, that let the engines end their work for every frame before putting the image on the left or right screen? if the driver where not trying to gain speed this way by not letting the engine render correctly, we whould end with a completely perfect 3D image no matter how much 2d, tricks and post proccesing the devs add. This will be a completely new driver from zero, and Nvidia is just not going to take the work this whould cost. (Message edited by Decoril on October 20, 2007) |

Yes the buffer for the postprocess and all that, but even if you have a quadro, or an 6800 that is the same.. nvidia driver does not manage to do this...so you, are an eterpriser, do an good driver and sell it for 60bucks; you will make a fortune. |
