The frame-exact synchronization of two DVD players is possible with Dave Jones Design (www.djdesign.com) DVD synchronizer for Pioneer V7400 DVD players. These industrial players used to cost $700 a piece, but now go for $200 on Ebay.

I have one of these setups for polarized stereo projection and love it.
