Hi!! I've recently bought eDimensional glasses and I can watch 3D interlaced movies. They are *.avi movies, if I compress this films to *.mpg I can't watch them in 3D. The question is: Is not possible to compress 3D movies to mpeg? (Message edited by Paula on May 16, 2007) |

Yes it is possible (I know, I've successfully done this many times), but this just depends on the tools and settings you choose for doing the conversion. Tell us more... Scott |

I'm doing it right, I can watch my mpeg movies correctly. It seems that my glasses work sometimes better and sometimes worse. Thank you Scott |

Scott or Paula, I am also trying to convert 3D anaglyph to mpeg without ghosting. Any advice? |

Movies that are already anaglyph are very hard to convert from any to any format as due to the compression you always have ghosting. I fear there is no general advise that can make them "perfect" conversions in any advise. Try the highest bitrate/quality setting available and dont use any anti-aliasing or similar filters that influence the image, that might look a bit better than lower quality settings, but the only possibility to make an anaglyph movie with perfect quality is to have a side-byside as a source and convert it then. Best results are of course with a lossless or "nearly" lossless codec as any visible compression or anti-aliasing can distort the image and result in ghosting. |
